lots of places have "Free Wifi" so it may be the coffee shop or whatever who pays. Its an option, thats all.

If they OP has a suitable Smartphone, switches off the Data Roaming and finds a suitable WiFi HotSpot...

I'll keep it bookmarked just in case....you never know. Doesn't support BlackBerry though.
  • My advice would be not to top it up with too much cash, if you use it at all. Mine was scammed in the US with a rogue charge at a Chevron petrol station; that merchant still has my money (remember, it's a debit as you pay up front) and, whilst I queried the transaction on September 21st, I am still yet to hear from the disputes team, despite repeated phone calls to them. They are "awaiting a response" from the merchant apparently.
Having to cancel the card meant I was without dollars and had to use a regular CC to live whilst away; if I ever get my money back, I'll have to convert it back to Sterling at Travelex's exchange rate (didn't bother with buyback as I did not expect to return with enough left on it to bother with); a triple whammy of FX charges.
Really really unhappy about this "service" from Travelex.

This thread concerns the Cash Passport GLOBE.

Thank you for your input, though perhaps this is the wrong forum for it.
