Don't forget anyone who had a pre-arranged overdraft on this account (min £200) has in effect, already got their £200 bonus, since January, aslong as your £200 incentive is due before 4th April (:

Exactly right. I used my 3 month interest-free overdraft in January - intending that when paid, the bonus will just zero the balance.

Do we get charged £20 to setup/renew the overdraught?

    The Co-operative bank has confirmed:

That payments will start to be issued week commencing the 20th of FEB!

So have any started coming in yet?

I was talking about the air in my furnace of course :p
  • Has anyone else been with Alliance and Leicester Bank when they were taken over by Santander(about a year ago I think?)? I seem to recall that they "promised" that the current account I used would stay the same, overdraft, fees etc. I did notice a while ago that they stopped paying the minute amount of interest on a credit balance in the account, but I wasn't that bothered as it didn't amount to much. If I had any extra money I put it in a separate account.
But what I'm upset and outraged at is that at the weekend I received a letter saying that from March 16th, they were changing the overdraft charges considerably. From when I opened this account(2006)I have had an arranged £1750 overdraft(sometimes use a little of this)and that is charged at 50p a day, up to a maximum of 10 days, which totals £5 I was quite happy with that as I felt it was reasonable and fair. They are changing this to £1 a day, capped at 20 days in a month, so that could be £20-quite a whopping increase?!! What does anyone else think?

Hi, you will get a better response if you post on a thread about A&L, not one about the CooP.

Using "Forum Search" at the top of the page; enter in "Alliance and Leicester takeover" and that will give you some threads to both read and post in.

    HTH.
