Otherwise you might have to do it again
The £800 will be going in on payday and back out 3 days later until I get my £200 anyway.
£10 in the account to cover the 2 standing orders for 1p and 2p respectively0 -
I've just had all my direct debits transfered to the co-op and have just noticed a direct debit I dont recognise.
it is for "Close Brothers LTD", looking at their site I can see they are an investment management company - I have no dealings with them and matched all my exisiting DDs,
Has anyone else had this?
close finance is their other name, they also do some insurance finance.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -
Grrr, this morning a standing order has been paid twice; once from the old account and once from the new account!0

Yes, I have had the same with a couple of Building Societies that I had fixed deposit saving accounts a couple of years ago which are now closed. They were set up for any deposits or withdrawals that I might have done. Thet never appeared on my previous banks list so I never expected to see them appear with the Co-Op. I have attempted tp delete them twice from the Co-Op list but in each case they appear back the next day. I will have to phone the about that.
In fact I have just opened a savings account with Close Brothers so I expect that I will now have a Direct Debit to them appear in my list so in answer to your question I would ask if in the past whether you had one of their savings accounts which is now closed?0 -
So, applied for full switch online (which for me involves 20+ standing orders/Direct Debits), and 2 salaries into a joint account. Switching from Barclays who after 30 years banking, since I was at school had shown us zero loyalty/incentive to stay with them.
Got approval/debit cards/cheque book all within 10 days. Plenty of txtx along the way fm co-op advising of progress. They have successfully "grabbed" all my DDs. They have given me a date of 28 Nov when the DDs etc formally switch from one bank to the other. Getting letters emails from my various payees advising of acct change
Have spoken to them on the phone 3 times during this process -very helpful, and quick to answer phone.
So...in sum....although I am taking advantage of the £200 offer, we had been thinking of doing this full switch to the co-op for some time. The 200 quid offer was just the catalyst. Very pleased with the service thus far

I switched to Coop over a year ago and found them to be a pretty good bank. My account has the RAC, Phone insurance and Travel insurance package, which are very good in so far as they have wide ranging cover.
The down side with CoopYou cannot withdraw more that £250 cash in any one day unless you use a high street branch. The nearest one for me is 50 miles away. A small thing, but one that left me in a difficult position last week when I needed cash.
NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Can I ask a stupid question please?
They have sent me a closure form to send to Santander to close my account. Do I have to do anything with it? If I don't send it and I keep the Santander account open will that be okay? I don't want to jeopardise getting my £200.52% tight0 -
