  • Contact ACAS for free advice relating to employment matters. If you are in a union also speak to them.

No unfortuatley I couldnt go for unfair dismissal as I did the misconduct .
This employer will only confirm dates and not the reason for leaving even if asked.
The issue is they shouldnt be divulging my private information to clients.

Contact ACAS for free advice relating to employment matters.

When you have used this forum for rather longer you will see that there are, sadly, many example of the ACAS helpline giving people the wrong advice.

At its first level it is simply a call centre staffed by people with limited training. In most cases they limit themselves to offering generic advice which could easily be researched online. However, at times they seem to go further and this is where we often see real problems. To be fair we only hear third hand what they have said and it may be the poster has misunderstood or simply heard what he wanted to hear.

It is no substitute for proper legal advice from somebody qualified and in possession of all of the facts.
