Are you on the full package? If so then you dont have to pay. If you subscribe to movies or sport you dont have to pay either, thats what I was told, Im on the full package and got sky+ for £49 and its brilliant I dont have to pay any extra!!

It is nice to talk to British people with British accents in a call centre. Even if he did have a very broad scottish accent :D

I've been phoned by Sky about Broadband a couple of times but I ended up saying no thanks because I couldn't understand a word they were saying.
(No offence to any Scottish people reading. )

    No I Pay £21 a month.
An earlier thread states that Sky will possibly do away with the £10 charge in Feb , but if I agree to it now ,will I still have to pay 12 months worth of £10's ??

I was paying £16.50 for 4 packages - no movies or sport
Want sky+ but refuse to pay £10 a month

My box was playing up - had it changed 3 times in last year - offered Free fitting and a guarenteed NEW box free - still declined.

    I cancelled - disconnected jan 4th.

    so far had a 10% off - I declined

also been offer sky+ with 2 packages at £28 a month - I pointed out I was paying £16.50 add on £10 sky+ total £26.50 for 4 packages and the offer he was giving was less than I originally had - "dont you want to go ahead then" he said - I think a re training on adding up is in order for sky staff.

By the way I declined. I await call number 3 - not too bothered at moment as getting a nice free selection of channels - all ITV & BBC ones (2,3,4 etc ) Sky 3, men & motors, some music ones and others ) But like the sound of the £10 a month being scrapped.
Thanks to everyone who posts comps :T

id like sky + and would happily ring them to try and get it for £49 or free. however, the account is in our lasses name. does anyone know if they'd be happy to talk to me or would they insist on speaking to the account holder?

    cheers

Alternatively, if you wife is in the house but you want to speak, you can get her to say 'please speak to my husband' and thats all it takes.

Just wanted to say thank you - I've just registered with this site today and was reading this thread. I decided to try my luck with the cancellations department with Sky, and was offered the £49 Sky+ option. I never ever would have thought of threatening cancellation to try and get a better deal from them, so thank you very much. Am now eagerly awaiting installation on Friday in the hope that I might get to watch something other than Sky Sport and CBeebies now!

Thanks again, what a great site
