I went for nokia 6233 on '3' VTT350 with e2save (prefer VTT700), cashback has no problem with them in the past. sell the phone, small profit to be made. I like my 6680 with sat-nav.

@mbamick: I have the same offer on option 1

    Hi again HL.
You stated that you weren't bothered about the phone. I don't need a replacement phone, am with 3 at the moment, and was offered the following deals today - both exclude a phone because I told them I don't need one:

Option 1: 500 xnet anytime minutes; 100 texts for £30 per month.
    1st 9 mths FREE, Month 10 = £16, Month 11 = £30, Month 12 = £30
Total cost £76; average cost £6.33 per month - and No CASHBACK to worry about.

Option 2: 750 xnet anytime minutes; 150 texts for £40 per month.
    1st 9 mths FREE, Month 10 = £40, Month 11 = £40, Month 12 = £40
Total cost £120; average cost £10 per month - and No CASHBACK to worry about.

They are both great deals, but I'm still undecided whether to take a 12-month cashback deal with new phone [with the hassles that cashback can bring] or simply opt for one of these.

Still got a fortnight to decide, so no panic. Just thought I'd share the "no phone upgrade" deals though, as food for thought.

Did you get offered the 100mins + 100texts per month for a year, for a fiver payable at month 12? Not sure if they still do this (was there if you asked around 2 months ago) but 42p a month for this is not bad.
  • Thanks for all those comments. I would like a new phone as the battery on my current one isn't very good as it's a couple of years old, but not too bothered about what it is. Have had Nokias in the past and find them quite uesr friendly.

Don't think that I will go for 3 network as I have a friend who has one and the reception round here isn't that good with it.

I had been with E2save this year and got a good deal and have had no problems, although others seem too have not been so lucky. I'm slightly worried about the mobile outlet looking at other reviews but mobile shop looks quite reliable so may go with them. There don't seem to be so many good deals with E2save at the moment.
  • I bought the motorola v3i, 500 mins and 200 txts on t-mobile. 12 months free line rental from https://www.coolnewmobile.co.uk

A number of options still available - I wonder if this next week will see a return of some good deals for the month end?

  • I also hope some good deals show up next week cos my 12 month contract is finished so I’m back to PAYG at the moment….its amazing how you get used to those free minutes!
  • Hi,

any idea how the cashback works at shops such as coolnewmobile?

ie.e do you get the cashback immediately, or after the end of the year? Or doe sit just offset against the tariff?

    thanks

Basically you get X number of vouchers (with CNM its 5). They tell you that on your x'th bill you need to send the voucher to them and then after y days they will send you a cheque of z amount.
