Can anyone advise on this, whether I can stay with my present bank, I dont want my employer RBS having any dealings with my bank account, its nothing to do with them. It is only so they can get the interest off it.
Thanks
They would have credit checked you before getting a job at the bank. you do know that right?0 -
A guy where I work goes downstairs on pay day, draws the lot out in cash (£2K or so) then walks along to his own bank & pays it in!!!Ethical moneysaver0

But the account policy went out the window last century:D
I doubt they could enforce it legally.
Would be liking MacDonalds saying you have to eat their, or Tesco saying you have to shop their.
Infringement of civil liberties
As I thought, we will see, thanks.0 -

No, thanks for help0 -
RBS group account, ie NatWest, Virgin one, coutts, adam and co, drummonds, is the rule in the contract. As everyone has stated Standing Order to main account, take out cash on payday and straight to main account, cheque etc,etc,.0

The thinking behind the policy was that if a staff member was in financial difficulties, would they be tempted to misappropriate funds and therefore their personal financial situation was subject to strict control. Having been through that, I'm glad I did as it taught me financial discipline.Gwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0 -

There is a union just in case you wanted to check out your options.0 -

Thanks for this, a couple of good reading points which I've printed off.0 -
As someone said before.....don't become a martyr for the cause. Otherwise you'll find your wage increases and bonuses get smaller every year! What possible objection do you have that your wage is paid into an RBS account? Just set up a SO to your regular bank.0

I work for Barclays and in the contract you have to have a Barclays account, but when I started you could have the first 2 months paid elsewhere and then they would transfer to a Barclays account, to this day I still don't have a Barclays account , but it is in the contract to have one.0
