I dont really want to get drawn into the debate fully, but just wanted to.add that a three day old corpse left, even at room temperature, will noy be a very nice experience for the finder, and doing so deliberately seems a bit selfish and cruel to me. My father in law did something similar when he dies, and it was just a wee bit longer than three days, it meant his carefully chosen clothes(by us) were no use to the FD and the realisation on my husband and mil and his sisters faces when we discussed it with the FD will never leave me.
Sorry if that puts anyone off their lunch.I just thought it was a perspective no one else had mentioned. The thought that someone you care about has lain dead and undiscovered and uncared for is a terrible one, and sadly a situation which plays on your mind for a long tim. My FIL has been gone almost six years, and I know that bothers us all just as much now, as it did then.

Apologies if inadvertently offended - and will duly "move on".
'Tis never easy on SUCH a huge thread with a variety of posters - lotsa different backgrounds/ages/viewpoints/ways they themselves personally are/etc/etc
Take care lass.0 -
I amnot at all offended Ceridwen, we are all entitled to our beliefs, I just thought it was worth pointing out what its like from the other side. I agree though, maybe its time to take the thread back to kale or smelly cauliflower.

Hobsons choice, hope you are feeling better soon.
I am feeling a bit run down today, having a minor cold so not doing too much today. Lovely weather here today so the washing line is full today. I personally think this thread is as friendly as before. I just don't have the same time to post here since I am working full time again but I enjoy reading this thread. I am starting my new job on Monday, I shall let you know how I get on.
Have a nice weekend. Hugs to those who need one.No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

Lol, HJ, if anyone is causing 'off putting' it's probably me, so fret not, I have broad shoulders, I'll take the blame.
Now where shall I go after leather chaps. Oh I know, I have a nice piece of brisket ready to go in the slow cooker with some veg, it should make a lovely lunch tomorrow.

Hardup Hester- I think I've been to that event and some of the clothes or lack of them can be quite eye opening. We did get to see the absolutely stunningly beautiful Dita Von Tease so that more than made up for any other sights.
The BDSM demo was funny as they were banned from actually hitting/marking/swatting anyone with anything lol.
Get well soon Hobsons choice
HariboJunkie you have nothing to be upset about. Thanks for the lovely new thread
The SDG household is filled with the sounds of aliens and orcs being destroyed. DH is watching Dr Who in our bedroom, DS2 is watching Dr Who in his bedroom and DS1 is responsible for the noise of orcs being defeated in the living room. I feel the need to watch a Rogers and Hammerstein marathon to defuse some of the testosterone that is building up. Who wants to start The Sound of Music singalong?
I have the masses to feed again today, but am feeling lazy and uninterested in cooking anything. I really need to get my bottom in gear and get the desserts and some of the prep done. The menu tonight is fish pie, sausages, carrots, peas, sweetcorn, fries and mash. Pudding is going to be peach pudding (Tinned peaches simmered with vanilla and cinnamon and then topped with vanilla and hazelnut sponge) and cookie ice cream sandwiches. I had better get my ample bottom in gear and go and make the cookies.

Thanks for all the good wishes, I'm sure I'll feel better soon but it's so frustrating, knowing I have loads to do but no energy to do it.
OH has gone into Nursey mode and asks me how I'm feeling every ten minutes and do I want anything. Very sweet, but it drives me crackers (I can't stand fuss). He pegged the washing on the line this morning but it's a well known fact that men cannot peg washing out! One peg in each pair of pants and six pegs in the duvet cover, shirts are pegged at the shoulders.
I hide his Xmas presents under the vacuum, coz I just know they're safe there...so no danger of that being done. I'm an ungrateful s*d though.Normal people worry me.0 -

Good afternoon all :hello:
Well I'm managing to have a reasonably OS day...& what a beauty of a bright, fresh autumn day it is too....:j
Gentle stroll to town to buy veggies from the market (amazing what we got for less than £7!! Would have cost LOADS more from the supermarket!).
Washing out on the line in the sun.
Hm lentil soup made ready for lunch when hubby comes back in from glossing a door...slightly un-MSE artisan sourdough loaf to go with the soup (I'm going to give making sourdough a go at some point promise).
Making cauli cheese for dinner tonight (the cauli I got from the market is the size of a small childs head!)...any left overs will get re-heated to go as veg with tomorrows slow-cooked pot-roast brisket.
ETA: Oooh just seen the peach pudding ref...I am so going to try that!!!0 -
SDG we love Dita von Tease, we are going to see High Tease by the Ministry of Burlesque in a couple of weeks.
We used to go to That Show at Olympia every year as it's near my birthday, but it's just got smaller & smaller over the years & is no longer worth the entrance fee.
Hester
