Will have to find an alternative "something" naughty to bake at the w/end....now where are my baking books

Oooh 840kcal per serving *WARNING ... anyone on a diet skip this bit quick* .... I really really really need to make one or two ... or maybe three (do they freeze ? ) I have seriously dropped a ton of weight and I need to at least stop losing anymore else I'm likely to disappear down a drain with the next floods ... I don't even know why

Yet another lurker, thought I'd come and say hello! Also lurk on the prepping for winter thread, and the Daily, and don't post on those either! Mostly because I sneakily read them at work, so don't actually log in!0

A word of warning!
Try burning a bit first to check that they haven't been treated with fire retarder - we were give a stack of pallets a few years ago and diligently cut them up, split some for sticks and stacked them up for winter - only to find that they wouldn't burn and the bits that did burn crackled, spat sparks like billy-o and smelt bloody awful:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls

I heard on the t.v. new tonight that the government think we all eat too much, maybe that's the reason the food prices are going up almost daily:eek:. We won't have that problem soon as food will become a 'luxury item' We will all become nice and thin and healthy then the powers that be will complain that because we are all healthy even more hospitals will shut throwing even more folk on the scrapheap:(Thus saving more cash for MPs to steal to line their pockets with
Dronid Many moons ago (around 1960)I worked in St Thomas's Street and we used to go to a pub called The Grapes around the corner to find dishy Docs from Guys Hospital is the pub still there I wonder ?
and Pink Winged I just put on 3lbs just reading the recipe with over 800+ calories per slice .Oh dear and I'm off for a heart & lung scan tomorrow:(0 -

When I was married in a previous life, the ex worked for a firm that made solder & flux....he would bring pallets home to chop & use for kindling on the fire....it was quite interesting watching all the different coloured flames from the chemicals that were impregnated into the wood!
I heard a very sensible discussion on Radio4 yesterday about how the government should force retirement at 60 to allow the young unemployed to get into the job market. Can't see it happening, but had to admire the logic in it.0 -
Bog-eyed delurker here.... wow you guys don't let a shiny new thread breathe!
I am lovin' these threads & am convinced that my family & I have survived poverty due to tips etc I have gleaned from my lurking for many a year:). Decided that de-lurking is a worthwhile alternative distraction from studying - tried chores but that was boring!
Haribojunkie - just loved the cat linkie - that is sooo my Lilycat. She just knows when I really NEED to concentrate :rotfl:.

Just had to come on and thank Haribo and maryb for the links to the cat cartoons. I've spent [STRIKE]wasted[/STRIKE] an inordinate amount of time enjoying clicking on loads
Bring back lovely memories of my dearly departed moggie who could have been the subject of all of them :rotfl:
