Are you serious? Take their insurance.

Or have you got something against Iggy Pop?

They can all be bar stewards when you claim, only if you go high price like Hiscox or someone are you going to up your chances of a smooth claim.

I have had a Swiftcover policy for 2 years now which is unusual as the renewal was close enough to the best price I could find not to bother changing.

I was with them for 3 years and can't fault them on service, although they are fully web based, so don't expect documents through the post. You have to print off your policy and certificate.

I had a claim with them when a bus pulled out on me and again, great all round. I'd still be with them except LV worked out quite a bit cheaper on year 4.

People say they're not very good, but my father has been with them about 3 years now and has found them excellent. And during that time has had one at fault write off, so that is based on claims experience too.

Just a shame I'm too young for them to cover me on his MX-5. :(

We used them for 2 years, but they lost out this year. Absolutely fine and would go back.

Customer service was good too. As has been mentioned here, it's all web based but I didn't realise that at first. I rang them with a change of vehicle and they pointed out that if I did it on the website it was free, by phone £30. I said I would do it on the website but the girl said she might as well do it as she had the details on the screen and didn't charge me.

Had nothing but problems with them when i had an accident.

the car was written off, i explained that i wanted to get my pre-declared stereo/speakers out the car, they said they'd give me a week, as soon as the weekend passed and the repair centre was open they moved the car to Doncaster. I asked them many times to bring the car back, they flatly refused, i ended up having to take a day off work and drive to Doncaster myself to get my stereo out the car. I was tempted to leave it but they insisted that the original VW stereo and speakers were in the car.

I bought a new car, was told i'd lose 2 of my 3 years no claims as the accident was my fault, when i rang them for a letter for proof of my remaining 1 years no claims they claimed i didnt have any no claims when i took out the policy. i sent them copies of my original certificate with them but they claimed their system said otherwise. I had bought my car and took out insurance at £1500 with 1 years no claims, the car was on my drive when they revealed this bombshell, and as a result my insurance went up to £2400.

when they were due to pay me the money remaining for my write off it didnt show in my bank account. i rang them and got told it was my issue as the money was paid, and was my fault if the bank details were wrong (despite them having my bank details for my direct debit). after speaking to my bank who couldnt find any payment attempted, i went back to swift cover where a different customer services advisor told me that as soon as she searched my account an alert flashed up that they wanted to double check my bank details.

Amongst all of this, their customer services advisors were vile, and had no qualms in telling me their opinion of me when i rang "well the accident was your fault in the first place, maybe you should consider how you drive before you criticise an insurance company" was amongst my favourite comments, at least their honest (there's a positive point for you)

i made a complaint when all was said and done, and was told that the only thing they could offer me was £15 back to cover my phone bills for all the time they left me on hold when calling them. I had requested the fuel covered for me driving walsall-doncaster, the earnings i lost for the one day i had to not work as they had moved the car after having said they wouldnt, and various other things i was told to demand following advice. i know i could have gone through the ombudsman and maybe got more out of them, but after all this time, most of it spent being angry and upset with how they were treating me, i couldnt be arsed to be honest.

to top it all off, i gave up with them in the August, in the December i received a letter from the other party's insurance company advising me that swift cover hadnt contacted them, and they were going to sue me for the money through the county court. if i get a ccj i lose my job. luckily, when i called them they did sort it out...

so if you dont have any accidents at all, they're fine!

im now with NFU. No admin fees for changes in details mid policy, local office that i deal with, low interest rates on monthly DD, dont show in comparison sites, but so so so helpful with any queries. to me they are how an insurance company should be!
