You know LT, I'd've been happy if you'd stopped after declaring me right......:rotfl:0

i sort of felt the same when our flat piccies went on the internet, it's a lovely size it's just a shame that it's too small for us now. good luck with your viewing, it's a hard market at the moment, but if you have a house i've a feeling it's a bit easier to sell than our flat.0

Morning Shower,
I too am finding the first month of debt clearing slow going, but I think it's because I am spending time planning, reorganising and reprioritising. And changing my ways:p
So I think at the start we are 'sowing' and soon we can start 'reaping', then we will be able to see faster progress
Love this thread, love your focus, keep it up:T

Hope you enjoyed your party:)
I keep overspending too. Maybe it's because I set my budget too low. But the progress is that we are looking at what we are spending. And even 'overspending' is spending less than we used to. Thinking twice before we buy something and getting value for our pennies.
Tis all progress, Shower, tis all progress:DDebt £26k 18/10/140 -
you're so much better than me, i've never been able to keep a spending diary of what's in my purse. I've always kept one of my bank account/card spends but that doesn't always tell the whole story0

i know exactly what you mean about concentrating so hard on other's accounts that you lose track/give up on your own, i was like that for a while with one particular company i worked with. I was working so hard at keeping the cashflowing in the right places at the right time etc that i just couldn't invest enough time in my own.
any chance you could go for a walk or spend some time on a hobby to cheer you up? or how about locking yourself away in the bathroom and soaking with lovely music and giving yourself a proper pamper session?0 -
Hey Shower
Grab yourself a cuppa, and cozy up on the sofa for a moment.
You know, if you understand that you can't live together then it may not even be the green eyed monster you're suffering, but rather a level of grief for the marked closure of the relationship that you once had, and an acceptance of the need to move forward a little. Sounds like a perfectly reasonable response to be all over the place emotionally - take some time for yourself, a heavy dose of tlc (you're worth it!) and may I offer you a coveted galaxy counter? *offers bag*
As for moving forward - just thought I would point out that you're already skipping along pretty darn well (in case you haven't had time to take stock recently). Obviously, we don't know you before MSE, but look at who you are now in comparison to your initial entries. You are a fab mum by all accounts, you're in control, you've taken responsibility for your fnances and general lifestyle, you understand yourself far better than you used to - and you know now not to be so harsh on yourself (by the way - I'll bet that not only is a £34 overspend bloomin' amazing compared to previous years, but I'd also bet that in previous years you didn't even know what your budget was for Christmas shopping, let alone when you went over it. Now that's a lady who has found her path).
In my opinion, you don't need to grow up - your post shows that you already have.....and it's really a pleasure getting to know the person you are becoming.
Now, slurp the rest of the cuppa, take a deep breath and smile the smug smile of a lady who is doing just fine thankyouverymuch... and go on about your day.

Walked all over the shop with them, hovered by the cash point but then I PUT THEM BACK...I'm seriously brainwashed!! I'm not entirely sure it was the right decision because never again will I find a darling bag that cheap but I know I'm just too eyeballed up with debt right now! Oh dear snowball, make the flakes thicker and faster, I cannot wait to spend again!!! (Obviously whilst working to a budget my friends..)
