Wish I could fast forward a year Matt, to see how this works out for you.
Got an £80 ticket in Chester yesterday myself.
Needless to say, from what I have read so far, I will not be paying.
Good luck.0 -

You don't need to fast forward - that poster is one of hundreds on here posting about these chancers! There have been posts on here about Roxburghe & Graham White for years and years. Nothing ever happens.
The worst thing is if they get your phone number but then all you have to do is tell them the alleged debt is denied so clear off...
As long as it's just letters they are easily ignored; see the stickies for the letter-chains and the Watchdog clip (on Crabman's threads at the top):
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163
Once you have seen the Watchdog legal expert you will be in no doubt. Oh, and you NEVER got a 'parking ticket' or a 'fine'. It's just an unsolicited demand for money, like a phishing email. Just a flyer on your car, dressed up to look official.
HTHPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thought I'd get in on this cause some other rubbish forum booted me off for keeping people informed... I've only found little stages of peoples' situation with this parking 'fine'/Roxburge hoo-har and never heard the end of any.
I got a parking 'fine' in June from Vehicle Control Services (Sheffield), I read up on it, received the fore warned "red letters" about final demands (increasing from £80-120), ignored them, and today received one from Roxburghe.
Interestingly, there's a point to be made that repeatedly came up on my investigations - They cannot prove you were driving/parking. Infact on today's letter it states that their "client" sent me a "notice to registered keeper". This has confirmed what I'd been advised about previously. If they don't know you were driving/parking, they can't prove you owe the money.
Out of all of this hassle, I have considered paying the now £162 to get them off my back, but mostly because the letters are going to my Mum's house and she knows what they are before opening most of them, what with them being red...
Any one think that it may be worth while ringing/writing to either VCS or Roxburghe, pretending to be my mum and saying i'm getting letters that are addresssed to some one that doesn't live their?
My vehicle is registered to my new address so they could write to me here if they wanted to persue it?
Or do you think that'd be risky considering my Mum/resident in the house would have had to open these letters to find out who they were coming from.... Can't RTS them as they're open.... Advice?
Oh and Matt, please keep this thread upto date on their proceedings so I know what to expect!0 -
@kerryclear, I am surprised you have never seen a thread showing the end of the scam.
There are thousands of threads about this company (one company, Roxburghe, who also pretend to be Graham White). If you want to waste time over it, just Google Roxburghe 2010 or 2009, and you will get old threads from various forums which show you it is only letters and phone calls. Not everyone comes back and updates their thread when nothing further happens!kerryclear wrote: »Any one think that it may be worth while ringing/writing to either VCS or Roxburghe, pretending to be my mum and saying i'm getting letters that are addresssed to some one that doesn't live there?

Nope, worse than pointless as they will then know their letters are hitting home. For gawd's sake it's only Roxburghe; just ignore them like everone else.kerryclear wrote: »Or do you think that'd be risky considering my Mum/resident in the house would have had to open these letters to find out who they were coming from.... So? Sorry but this is just like ignoring phishing emails, it's nothing. And you could easily just print off the full letter-chain and tell her to play snap with each matching letter. See the top thread for the letter-chains and tell Mum it's all a scam.
And why not show Mum the Watchdog clip, I am sure you will have seen it on 'welcome, please read before posting':

But when you read the stickies (info threads at the top of a forum) you know what to expect. You and wrexy33 seem to think this is the only thread on here, just take a look at the many many current threads underneath the stickies. This is just an old-ish thread (by our standards as we get new ones every day), just one of thousands.
Once you have seen the Watchdog clip and know which letter-chain to expect it's actually quite fun to ignore these scammers.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I don't think that at all stupid.
Like many people I arrive at a thread after doing a search, hence clicking from a page full of links and not the page which you refer to with the stickies on.

Hmm nice! Also far from stupid!
The point is rather then fast forwarding a year, go back several and see how many people have received the normal nonsense, and what has happened to them!
The info is here to show what happens. This is what Coupon-Mad was referring too, not much is new! we understand newbies want encouragement, all the encouragement you need is already here.0 -
I'm quite aware of the point that Coupon-mad was making esmerobbo.0
