Is Sky broadband any good?

  • Sky is good but the router they supply you with, is a bottom of the barrel piece of kit, we have been with sky for a few years now and there has been some problems with connection, download speed and customer service is quite bad. When it works it works very well but when we have problems its almost a few days without any internet connection.

    I don't know as I've never used it. Have a look around here to see what people say about it: http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/sky-router/

    Although, I've never had an issue with either the Sagem or Netgear routers Sky gave me.
  • I got home last Friday to find I had no broadband at all. I phoned SKY on their premium rate "help" line and they informed me that I canelled it in January 2011 and that I should think myself lucky as since then I've been enjoying free broadband !

    If I want the service back I have to speak to a SKY sales turd and re-order it. It will take 4 weeks !

    THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THEY HAVE DONE THIS TO ME !!!!!!!

    SKY like BT are arrogant dog stools who don't deserve our business.

    SKY are crap for broadband.

    You should try Talk Talk - they do know how to treat customers :( :eek: :mad:

    Any company providing any service will be complete rubbish to someone if they had a bad service or experience or feel they have been messed about. For every one unhappy customer there will be hundreds if not thousands & sometimes millions more quite happy ones.

    Just switched to Sky Broadband from AOL. Hope Sky works out better than those useless muppets.
    I switched from AOL last year to SKY and it was the best decision we could have made. I've only had 1 problem with SKY broadband & thanks to a wonderful SKY techie based in Ireland the problem was quickly resolved. I'm sure you'll be very pleased you switched. I just wish I'd left AOL sooner.
  • I recently bumped up my Sky bb to unlimited for £7.50 it was well worth it now i no longer need to worry.
  • Yes, I've had Sky broadband unlimited for about a year now with no problems. Speeds are constantly at 8-9 mbps which might not be the advertised up to 20 mbps but it's good enough to play 1080p at youtube without stopping. Customer service is excellent so far. WHEN THEY TOLD ME THEY WILL CALL ME BACK TO ASSESS A PROBLEM, THEY ACTUALLY CALLED ME BACK. So much better than orange's customer service. Overall I'm a happy Sky customer.
