Anyone think they would use less butter if they went for catering packs with 7g individual portion size?
I am sure I would - for some time I have thought about buying a case of these as I am really heavy handed with butter. I haven't had the money to get butter lately but have been buying Clover on BOGOF - however it's not as nice but ....
Do you know how much the cases of little butters are and where you can get them?Jane

You might want to look up some of the studies carried out on coconut oil too if you still believe all saturated fat is bad for your health.
More specifically butter contains a small percentage of naturally occuring trans fats, trans fats in margarine are synthetic. Natural & synthetic versions of similar substances can have very different effects on health.
The study does not say that saturated fat is beneficial to health, only that "there is insufficient evidence from prospective epidemiologic studies to conclude that dietary saturated fat is associated with an increased risk of CHD, stroke, or CVD. However, the available data were not adequate for determining whether there are CHD or stroke associations with saturated fat in specific age and sex subgroups. Furthermore, there was insufficient statistical power for this meta-analysis to assess the effects on CVD risk of replacing specific amounts of saturated fat with either polyunsaturated fat or carbohydrate."
Also this study didn't look at the cancer risks.
Butter is still 80% fat (as is true margarine) so it is high in calories and should still be consumed in small quantities. Most margarine type products on sale are lower fat and so are a good way to cut down on calories. Excessive calorie consumption is still a major issue for many people.0 -
i think Lidl does it a little cheaper than £1.10. My nan buys it from there and i know she pays less than i do (i buy the tesco one too for baking).
