What about the folks who slow down for speed cameras when its Facing towards them?
Speed cameras sited in the middle of the road can only do 1 way at a time.
You do get some front facing cameras. Frankly, I don't see what the big deal is...brake for 20 yards, make sure you're not going to get booked, then accelerate again. Better safe than sorry0 -
i can understand the expensive fuel issue, so 56 on a motorway can be seen as acceptable but you HAVE to stay in the inside lane!
Yep, it's pretty seldom you catch up to anything to overtake, anyway...And when I do catch up to something, I'll speed up to 65 so I get the job done quickly. I also brake when lorries are passing me. No sense everyone being held up just because I'm saving fuel0 -

Why do you brake? Why not just take your foot off the accelerator a bit? The only time I brake when someone is overtaking me is if something is coming the other way, and I brake out of fear! Do you brake if something is behind you when someone is overtaking? What if the lorry or whatever needs to get back in behind you for some reason, and you've been braking - they'll have had it. :eek:0 -

I agree to help people overtake, and overtaking safely myself, but I think the day of the dinosaur driver having to drive on the speed limit (always 10% over as they know that speedo's always underread) regardless of economy has gone, so they're going to have to adapt to the new flow of traffic.0 -

Whats even more annoying, is people in big 4x4s or BMs, VOLVOs all with big engines doing the same or braking when nothing is there.
I know speed limits are for a reason, but people should at least stay close to the max if safe to do so, they say speed causes accidents, but i have lost count in our area of the number of times a slow driver has caused one.
Is this just "big engine envy"?0 -
just venting some steam as recently this seems to have happened a lot to me. why do people drive so slow at times around my area most roads are 60 but some people are going 50 at most and then whoa!!! they see a speed camera sign and near enough slam the brakes on! i will sit down and be quiet now!
you answered your own question. They don't know the speed limit so when they see a speed camera they slow down0 -

Usually I would brake to disengage the cruise control, plus in a big old auto lifting your foot off the accelerator has very little effect.0 -
i cant stand the braking for no reason sorry theres no need for it it completely winds me up-take your foot off the pedal
that is allWhat goes around-comes around0 -

I drive an automatic and I don't find the need to brake a lot. I try to read the road so I don't have to.0
