i cant stand the braking for no reason sorry theres no need for it it completely winds me up-take your foot off the pedal

    that is all

As Martin above says, it has little effect in an auto so if the person in front slows slightly you have 2 options which are brake or end up inches form the car in front's bumper.

Not if you follow the 2 second rule, and double it when it's raining.

I drive an automatic and I don't find the need to brake a lot. I try to read the road so I don't have to.

As do I, but in an auto you do have to use your brakes more often, people who are used to driving manuals don't seem to realise this, which was the main aim of my post.

But thanks for pointing out what a wonderful driver you are though.

Oh dear, perhaps you would care to explain how following the 2 second rule prevents you from having to brake if the vehicle in front is slowing quicker than you are?

I read somewhere that over 60% of drivers don't actually know what this means:

I get people braking down from 70mph+ to just 50mph on one of the local dual carriageways when they spot a speed tax camera, wouldn't be a problem if they weren't in lane 2, next to another idiot doing the same!!!

It doesn't always, but it helps lessen the chance if the person in front likes tipping the brakes for no reason!

What's your problem? Just because I say I try not to brake unless I have to? What's wrong with that?

You do get some front facing cameras. Frankly, I don't see what the big deal is...brake for 20 yards, make sure you're not going to get booked, then accelerate again. Better safe than sorry ;)
Im talking Gatsos, they cant work if you going towards them.
  • Some people just take the p - I was stuck behind someone doing 25 in a 40 zone the other day and then they slowed even more to 20 mph as they passed a speed camera. These sorts of people shouldn't be on the road IMO.
