If I want to drive at 50 in a 60 zone I can, will and am within my rights to do so.
If someone want to sit right up to the limits that's fine by me.

Thats fine by me too, as long as you realise that you are driving in a way that is inconsiderate to other road users (which is why it would be a fail on the driving test) and don't expect others to do the same.

So what about goods vehicles that are over 7.5 tons? The speed limit on single carriageway roads for that type of vehicle is 40mph. Cars towing caravans or trailers, coaches and buses and goods vehicles are all restricted to 50 mph.

The idea of getting up to the speed limit in the driving test is to demonstrate that the driver is capable of doing so confidently. Where does it say that it is inconsiderate if someone sits at 50 in a 60 limit? In your mind?

If someone wants to go faster they have the option of an overtake.

Whilst some may find it frustrating that some drivers don't want to drive at the speed limit it is absurd to accuse them of being inconsiderate if they are doing 50 in a 60.

What you appear to be saying is that anyone who doesn't drive at a speed that you want to drive at is being deliberately obstructive?

No, this is what I said, perhaps you'd care to read it?

I maintain that the issue is not so much about speed, but about the deliberate obstruction of other drivers, the people who drive far too slowly and feel it's their duty to force other drivers into doing so too.

I drive at the speed limits whenever conditions allow, if someone wants to drive faster, that's fine, i'll even move over to let them pass. But there's an increasing number of drivers who will do their best to obstruct anyone who wants to pass, they're under this illusion that they're doing the world a favour by !!!!ing off drivers who are probably already pretty !!!!ed off.......

I'm clearly talking about those who accelerate to stop overtakers, those who swerve into the middle of the road to prevent overtaking, those who drive so as to obstruct your view and make overtaking harder, those who hog lane 3 and sit there at < 70mph.

If you look at the comments on this video, you'll see that the car driver swerved out to stop the bike overtaking him. Shocking??? not really, I see this !!!!!! everyday and it's this "i'm going to be a Policeman" attitude that poses a serious danger on our roads.

The camera doesn't lie. Only going by what I see there, an idiot biker by the look of it. I've got the toolkit with the crowbar on top on the back seat for self defense if I need it. And if he ripped the mirror off my car, my foot would "accidently" slip off the clutch as well with the bike parked there.

No it doesn't, except when it's my camera and ya'll make up little stories based on what you cannot see. Double standards?

The driver had to have done something, the biker isn't gonna stop like that for no reason.

Do you often try to kill bikers?? No?
Because that's what we're talking about here, attempted murder.
