I have looked in Tescos and Wilko's for this but not been lucky so far. Now thanks to Shelley I'm gonna take a trip to Asda next time I go shopping! If it's in I'll buy in bulk! :)

Went to homebargains this pm and boughtm a bottle of stardrops. They had 2 yelloe kinds -one like the pic posted on here somewhere for 67p and one that looked the same just in a round bottle for 65p. Bought the cheaper on in true MS fashion!!

I've been reading this thread with excitement and confusion.

I've never heard of stardrops and, true to form for me, went of and sourced out its origins. It was, apparently, one of the first multii purpose cleaners introduced during the war so really has been around a long long time.

What concerns me is i have sensitive skin and reports from others that it irritates the hands. If it does that then surely it could be dangerous on kitchen worktops etc as a cleaner ?

I'm excited to try it but its really hard to break brand free (yes i know i've been brain washed but have used flash for years).

Is it really safe on things like kitchen worktops etc ?? I currently use flash with bleech to keep my kitchen worktops as clean as possible but as i home cook from scratch i'm using that around 3 or 4 times a day and find the smell of bleech can build up, which obviously can't be good for you.

So is it perfectly ok to use on worktops and cutting / bread boards etc ???

    OK OK
I'm a house husband but it did sound better my way
  • I should've realised there would be a thread dedicated to this stuff! In future I will search first!!!

    Thanks

My previous posts on this have probably been transferred to further back along this thread, but...

For a general purpose cleaning spray, use one-third each of Stardrops, white vinegar and water in an old spray bottle.

However, it is just a cleaner. Any bugs probably won't like the vinegar, but it is not a disinfectant.
