:rotfl: Totally agree to on the babywipe thing - but as the bottoms in this house haven't suffered too much I am not going to ask any questions :D

I use Stardrops for all the general cleaning in the house - I dilute it down into a spray bottle and use it like I would flash or anyother spray cleaner. I think I will try the starclean stuff as I too find that my tiles can get a bit grubby and stardrops doesn't get the deep, deep ground in stuff off.

For the tiles themselves try Barkeepers Friend. For the grout in between make up a strong solution of bleach and water and clean with a toothbrush. The dirt will pour out of the grout and the Barkeepers Friend will take everything off the surface of the tile.

Have just bought my FIRST BOTTLE of Stardrops and 2 bags of Soda Crystals (one from Wilkos and one from Asda) due to checking out the prices. Asda was the cheaper of the two and both were the same brand. Forgot about the white vinegar though :o

Will be having a go at reducing the amount of soap powder by using soda crystals to see how it works out :D .

I've been using Stardrops for about a year now and wouldn't consider using anything else for cleaning now. Use it for cleaning the whole kitchen

    floor (never leaves it sticky)
    worktops
    sink & taps
    fridge (inside & out)
    hob and oven

also use it to clean all the windows, mirrors and wash the car with it too and everything gleams.

For the people who are experiencing smears after using it, is it possible you're maybe using too much?
A little goes a loooooooong way with this stuff.:)

Don't know about exact ratios or anything as I've never measured but I just use a tiny squirt in a full bucket/sink for general cleaning jobs. It is very runny so it's easy to use more than is needed.

Also, I always buff with microfibre cloths afterwards, which you can get for in poundshops for pack of 3.

Not to be used on cars. My Grandad's old car is proof of this.
I was given it and everytime i washed it I would have a bucket of cloudy white water and when it rained, white streaks from the paint running!
    Good car though. Yaaay!

    Hi Lou :)

Try just swishing a microfibre cloth in a hot Stardrops solution: not too strong then give those switches a little rub. Obviously you want to squeeze the cloth out pretty well, unless you like the 'electrocuted hair look' ;) (I'm sure I didn't need to say that but I'd hate for someone to read it then fry themselves because they followed my suggestion _pale_).

I've found them one of the easier things to tackle and must admit I've cleaned them 'pre-Stardrops' without too much effort: probably when I went around the house with one of those JML spongy things: magic sponge I think it's called... amazing stuff.

Try baby wipes too: they have hidden powers as others have suggested.

    Hope that helps.

    :)

I got some microfibre cloths today and some baby wipes. So shall be giving both ideas a go in the morning. I shall report back. :D

  • I, too, became a Stardrops/Clens devotee upon reading this thread [and others :rotfl:] It doesn't half clean stuff - but now Morrisons don't stock it, I can't find it in ASDA and Tesco doesn't deliver [I'm half way up a mountain, thinks, "hmmm, maybe that has something to do with it ....?":D] so I'm stuck. I am still using Zoflora though - wonderful, if scarey, invention - have you SEEN what's in it?! No wonder it kills everything this side of Jupiter:eek: I think that if aliens did invade then a quick squirt of Zoflora and we'd all be safe again [memo to self, tell Dr Who about it... :D ]

So, can get borax, bicarb of soda, soda crystals and Zoflora - what wonderful mixes can I make with this little Home Chemistry set?

Answers on a postcard to this thread - I shall be waiting with baited breath [and a peg on my nose!]

There's lots of cleaning stuff in Asda that appear to be in-stock one week and out-of-stock the next. They DO sell Stardrops but not always there - maybe all the OS'ers are buying them up;) . Asda are also cheaper than Wilkos for the Soda Crystals (same brand) which quite surprised me.

I like the SmartPrice pine toilet cleaner - much cheaper than the ASDA one - only difference is that the SP one is a straight-necked bottle. Easily transferred from one to the other though when you get it home.
  • Hi,

We bought a bottle of Stardrops from Asda at the weekend as we are moving on Monday and will need to clean the house from top to bottom!!

It was a bargain at 68p (or something like that)

Anyway, what can you do with it? I've seen it mentioned on here loads, thats why we bought it! Is it better than other cleaning products?
