Hi all,
Bought some this morning in Poundstretcher. Wiping down the kids bedrooms with it and it's good. The only thing is, I read that people use it in their bathrooms and on their floors. Stardrops isn't anti-bacterial is it?(I couldn't see anything on the label) I would like to think my sinks and toilets and floors have been disinfected (even if for a little while)
Didn't know you could use it in the wash. Does it not foam too much?
Any more good tips very welcome...:j
Disinfecting is not essential if things are cleaned properly (littlies need a bit of natural resistance). The best thing for getting rid of MRSA is Fairy Liquid (sorry Stardrops), as used for handwashing at the Royal Gwent Hospital!!! By overdoing things, we can make things worse. I have only just found this thread, but my Mum (God bless her) swore by Stardrops, and used it all the time, especially when cleaning quarters to move house (and we did that an awful lot - I'm at address change 28 myself!!!)
Loving this thread. :T BTW, I've got the cleaning cupboard to beat all. I inherited all the products left at DH's Great Aunt's and my Mum's. It seems never ending. I'm sure the neighbours are filling it up from the back, but it does mean I've had to buy very little for absolutely months.DMP mutual support thread No: 433 - Mortgage - £54,556, Credit cards - £4012, Unsecured loan - £3,376, Other - £419

I decided to try 'Starclen' (part of Stardrops range) recently. It contains ammonia, by the way, so probably a good idea to wear rubber gloves
FANTASTIC result on tile grouting, with hardly any effort. I'd despaired of ever getting it clean. Great on paintwork also as well as tiles.
Pam
Hi Pam
Does this work well on the tiles themselves? My shower room has grotty floor tiles that I've tried all sorts on, including scrubbing on hands and knees. They're like the tiles you get at swimming baths etc, but we can never get them looking really clean, so maybe this would be the miracle we need?DMP mutual support thread No: 433 - Mortgage - £54,556, Credit cards - £4012, Unsecured loan - £3,376, Other - £419

I found Stardrops on sale for 67p in 'Home and Bargain', if you've a branch near you.
What amazing stuff - wish I'd discovered it before now, and so cheap!
Pam

I bought some StarDrops recently. I used it neat to try and get those grubby marks off light switches, cupboards etc....but it didn't all come off. Any ideas? We are selling in a couple of months and I need to get all fingerprints off!A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0

Hi Lou
Try just swishing a microfibre cloth in a hot Stardrops solution: not too strong then give those switches a little rub. Obviously you want to squeeze the cloth out pretty well, unless you like the 'electrocuted hair look'(I'm sure I didn't need to say that but I'd hate for someone to read it then fry themselves because they followed my suggestion _pale_).
I've found them one of the easier things to tackle and must admit I've cleaned them 'pre-Stardrops' without too much effort: probably when I went around the house with one of those JML spongy things: magic sponge I think it's called... amazing stuff.
Try baby wipes too: they have hidden powers as others have suggested.
Hope that helps.0 -
Yesterday I bought my first stardrops, yay!
Was so excited I had to clean the entire kitchen when I got home (spending too long on this site seems to do that to me!). Couldn't believe how shiny everything was. OH, who thinks I go on too much about things I've read on here, is a convert too.
Thanks for this thread, I don't think my house has ever been this clean!Nobody I'd rather be0 -

Definately agree with hannoja on the baby wipes.. when I think of some of the things I've used them successfully for makes me a bit worried about using them on a baby's bum really lolI THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I KnowSupermarket Rebel No 19:T0 -
I have a question! What shouldn't you use stardrops on? All I've picked up on is waxed wood.
Oh and also if it irritates hands then when you use it for washing won't that cause irritation? Or are you ok because it's been rinsed lots? I'm trying it now and have put it on extra rinse, I'm hoping that the childrens polo shirts for school stop looking so grubby!Fluttering about an inch off the ground, I may fly properly one day and soar in the clouds!

:rotfl: Totally agree to on the babywipe thing - but as the bottoms in this house haven't suffered too much I am not going to ask any questions
I use Stardrops for all the general cleaning in the house - I dilute it down into a spray bottle and use it like I would flash or anyother spray cleaner. I think I will try the starclean stuff as I too find that my tiles can get a bit grubby and stardrops doesn't get the deep, deep ground in stuff off.
