I think I can make sense of what you've typed.

What has she said that contradicts me and what makes you think that the bank plan to backtrack?

There's a number for us to call if we get complaints/concerns from customers who are genuinely and actually inconvenienced in terms of living in a remote location or being disabled. What happens then I don't know but perhaps on an individual basis exceptions will be allowed.

As it happens we have had very little negativity from customers and a good number have taken the opportunity to open full accounts that will benefit them.

To be honest, there are ways around these " restrictions."

Jen and I have given examples, of this. Simply open alternative free accounts with each of the institutions which allow you to gain access to all cash points free of charge.

Use the workarounds which are all free.

They aren't backing down. No change in policy at all and no plan to.

So would that be Chatham?? They didnt offer to ring for me. They said i had too.. Devon & Cornwall is one of the most remote parts of the UK. And thats why i'm against this. So excuse my frustration in my posts, and, don't try and belittle me .

The group have made it clear if you don`t like it close your account they aint bothered by the sound of it....

The address for account closures is on the back of the letter the chatham address.

Open a Barclays cash account or something instead that may be better for you.

  • Where else can you get a service where your salary is paid and looked after and virtually all your bills are paid for you without you needing to worry. I have all my bills paid by dd each month and this saves me a huge amount of time and what do I pay for it, nothing. My bank charges me nothing and does all that. I think we have to understand that they too are looking at ways of savings costs especially when they are under scrutiny like the RBS and LLoyds who are part government owned. Other countries charge for banking services, we get it for free in the UK. It sounds like sensible housekeeping to me.

    Guys & Gals...

... Cashback? Available at all supermarkets and most pubs. Simple :o

Failing that, open a Co-Operative Cashminder or Halifax Easycash account. Again, really dead simple.
    Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
