Seller hasn't received item but wont accept my offer to provide proof of postage

Another thing to consider, if you DO come across a scammer who signs for it then notices RM haven't updated the tracking (as they often don't do), they can then claim a refund from ebay, but you will be unable to claim from royal mail as royal mails records will show it delivered, even though it won't appear online for ebay to see.I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!0

Not neccesarily. I claimed for the recorded portions of the cost of several deliveries that were still showing as processing through the network. Out of something like 17 in total, RM were able produce 4 signatures. They paid out for the remaining that they didn't have signatures for and I know that all of them were delivered successfully.
Isn't that fraudulent?I am a LandLord,(under review) so there!:p0 -

Are you talking about Royal Mail charging for a service of obtaining a signature but not actually giving what's paid for??

I currently offer buyers a range of postage options from 2nd class standard to Next Day Special delivery, so that way they have a choice of what they pay, rather than having one more expensive rate.
As others have said, some buyers dont want to have to sign for an item, so although it's my responsibility to ensure the item is posted out, I cant force someone into having a service that they don't want.
As a buyer, I appreciate this choice, and will select registered if the item I'm buying is expensive.
Essentially, from now on, I'll judge it case by case when I'm selling an item.
I've certainly had some useful pointers from this thread0 -
The lesson I have learnt with eBay is only send items tracked and insured either when you are selling it or returning for refunds.
The one thing I have learned is not to bother with any tracking if a simple proof of posting will provide cover against loss when you are the seller, but when returning use tracking.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Isn't that fraudulent?
I paid Royal Mail extra money to obtain a signature which they failed to do in the majority of cases so I am in my right to get that money back for a service they did not provide.
Don't know how on earth fraudulent applies to it in any shape or form!0 -

Maybe they mean RM taking money for a service they haven't provided?0 -

I should clarify that I only claimed the 70-odd pence for the recorded portion of the cost - I didn't claim for the cost of the item itself or the whole postage cost. Perhaps thats where the confusion is?0
