Good god mate, thats rough. Sorry to her it, but at least you guys are able to remain friends.
You'll be impressed with ours when you come see it next, we have floors
I assume the risk is due to the delay with operating systems et al? Is there much work about in your field these days? This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -

I am not previleged to information relating to the delays but news hounds keeps saying it is the OS others chips. Our CEO is wanting to save $1bn in operational expenditure to get us through this period so not sure what the true answer is.
There is a bit of work around just a case of waiting to see if the consultation process saves me with a different job and do I want to stay (more than likely at the moment).0 -

Amazingly I haven't been anywhere near the bottle which is extremely good going. Have not touched any drink since August Bank Holiday.0 -
Tete - go for it with the dress! If you can't find a pattern thats right either, have you thought about making your own pattern? You can base this off a standard block (should be able to find how to make one online) which you can customise, or use a dress you already have or there's loads of tutorials for things people have put online. I think I've said it before but www.craftster.org has loads of creative people, maybe have a look in the clothing section? I wish I still had the time and space and inclination to make stuff
started making a quilt ages ago (Its something I've aways wanted to do!) but left all the bits at home and I dont have a sewing machine! Tiny london flats are not helpful when you want to craft!
Ooh will have to check out that site properly. I do have a dress which would work well but do you not have to take them apart to work out the pattern?
Dinah do you remember when we did the sewing class and they kept saying something about a one-day pattern drafting course but it never happened? Really wish it had!
I'd recommend crochet or knitting for your tiny flat, takes up much less space than sewing. I made a tiny fabric New Home card last night and my bedroom is a bombsite now, fabric and cotton everywhere, I can never find the thing I need. And then Mavis makes her bed in among all the scraps and everything gets covered in cat hair
Does anyone else have a student loan that feels like its going up rather than down?
YES. Got my annual statement recently and this was the first year I paid of more than I accrued in interest ... by a whole £20 - yay me. And looks like I'll be adding to it soon (with any luck!). Ah well.
Gosh, had one afternoon and morning of chaos whilst we got our new office furniture and had about three pages to catch up on here! (But I am now safely ensconced at my new desk with my back to the wall so I I'll be able to keep track from now on)
Poolie, so sorry to hear about your current woes, you poor soul. Nothing I can add really, and nothing that will make anything any better ... only I second the idea of a threadie Christmas party! I never have as many to go to as the magazines all say I should, so any more would be welcome!
ROTE congrats on your new addition
Dinah, how did I not know about that outlet site?! Eep, I'll never pay full price for shoes again! And never mind Ugg boots, I think I need a full-body Ugg in this office, so cold! I'm wearing my warmest jumper today and have my hot water bottle, and it's only mid-SeptemberWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Tete (and Dinah) if I lived closer I could teach you to pattern draft. It's the only way I sew now hence why I have loads of sewing patterns that I don't use. Anything I make using a shop bought pattern I have to alter anyway (big thighs, no boobs!) so it's much easier to draft my own.
Maybe we could arrange something next time I'm in Manchester? (that's kind of halfway isn't it?)Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000
