Blimey 10lb 4! Interesting name, Tait! Not too bad for something a bit out there though so s'all good. :) I love it when people call their kids something a bit odd and everyone says, 'Oh... that's...interesting... lovely' *forced smile* I had to do that when my manager announced the game of her granddaughter, Kadey. Or my Mum's colleague's GD Nevaeh, Heaven backwards!! What's wrong with a good old fashioned name?!

Really sorry about the job Ruby, that sucks. I know how gutting it is when you want a job, half convince yourself that you've got it then find out that it's gone t!ts up, you'll find something else soon I'm sure. You don't want to work for people who 'forget' to communicate with people properly anyway. :)

Have you booked the cabin yet Dinah? I only ask because if they're on cottages4you there's a 7% discount if you book through a link on Mumsnet, I found it when we were booking the cottage for my friend, saved us £50! :)

I am worried about doing the fake 'it's lovely' thing when we see her. At least she won't have any kids in her class with the same name.

I can honestly say Noah is a gorgeous name and also hardly unusual when it was in the bible lol.

Noah was one of the fastest growing baby names last year (still not common but in the top 100) so I don't think it's that unusual. And it's clearly been around a while if people cast their minds back to a great biblical flood.

No haven't booked the cabin yet, I've looked on cottages4you and the place we want doesn't seem to be on there. Which doesn't overly surprise me if I'm honest! I've only ever found them through their own website, God knows how my parents and nana first found them 20 years ago.

We named our DD Seren. (It's welsh for star) Problem was we lived up north at the time and when people would ask what we'd call her and I'd say "Seren" they'd all go "Sarah, what a lovely name" and I'd say "No Seren with a N" and they'd look at me and go "Seran??" I'd end up having to spell it for them and they would still call her Sarah. It used to annoy me every time

Ahh that's a shame, I don't like booking/ordering anything without a discount code nowadays! :o I spent ages trying to figure out how to save money on this cottage for my friend, it was about £850 for 3 nights originally! We're splitting it 8 ways, but it still seemed like a lot, I'm much happier with the discounted price :) Still trying to figure out what to do as entertainment though, we were planning on taking the xbox/kinect and playing Just Dance but looking at the photos the TV is a really old thing with a tiny screen, don't think it'll work! Might have to see if anyone can bring a TV with them, although that could be asking too much!

LOL your poor DD Star! Not for the name, which is lovely and I like the meaning, but the people always getting it wrong! I used to work with a Sara, pronounced Sar-ar, rather than Sarah IYKWIM but people always call her Sarah. It's not that difficult people!

I don't mind not having a code if I know I've got the best deal, this place is only £270 for the cabin for 7 nights so I can't really turn my nose up at that!
