I wonder how MM actually set their prices?! What are they going to do with a spooky sounds CD?!
I'd like a log cabin break but I think that OH would get bored after about 3 hours! I was thinking about booking a weekend away somewhere then realised that OH would probably want to bring the xbox with him so we might as well stay at home! Hot tubs and all other things fun are banned for pregnant ladies, I'm all excited about my friend's hen weekend in June as the cottage we've booked has a hot tub and sauna but there's a chance I could have a baby on board by then (you never know what will happen in 6 months!) so might not be able to enjoy it! Boo! I'll just have dip my feet in and sip non-alcoholic bubbly whilst everyone else is enjoying themselves
Oh I forgot to brag about my amazing charity shop find at the weekend! Got a new with tags (even the little air pocket padding thingies were still inside) Fiorelli handbag for £6.99! It's really nice too, probably would have been about £40 new; going to give it to Mum for her birthday and look lovely and generous when I'm actually just thriftyOvercome the notion that you must be ordinary. Hi everyone! Me and the OH just booked our holiday after much deliberating. We came to a compromise and are renting a cottage near Bath for 5 days in March and then having a weekend away in December (probably Prague again, but maybe Berlin or Budapest). I was surprised when OH wanted to rent a cottage WITH NO TV! It does have wireless internet though so we'll take the laptop and a whole bunch of DVD's and a few boardgames and just enjoy spending some time together.
We'll have to take advantage of it because I didn't get the dream job that I had the interview for before Christmas. I had to chase them and finally got a reply yesterday to say that they had made the decision before Christmas but FORGOT to let me know. On a major downer at the moment because my current job is really getting me down. Resisting the urge to eat all the chocolate in the house or spend money I don't have on pretty things. Found a couple of jobs I could apply for but I just don't have the motivation at the moment.
Sorry to put a downer on you all, I'll just got back to bed and hide.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
We have another girl in the family! Poor OH is so outnumbered haha. She ended up having an emergency c section and poor bubba having trouble breathing so gone to special care.
All these weekends,weeks away sound lovely!
Birdie - what a fab find with the bag, should really look more in charity shops.
So sorry about the job Ruby! Hopefully another job will come along, that is awful they didn't let you know.0 -
You're doing some good thrift this week Birdie. Spinny Martin for you. :money:
Yey to the new baby - does she have a name yet?
We're actually planning on going to a log cabin thing in Scotland with the family in October. We used to go to this one a few times when I was little. The cabins have probably changed hands by now as the farmers who owned them were about 90, but I found them online and they're still only about £270 for a week which seems very reasonable to me.
Couldn't resist holiday browsing, lots of nice warm AI for about £270, but I'm reminded that every time I do this I'm bored out my skull! Maybe atm when I can't go in the sun, and am too pregnant and tired to be all that active I really am better to look to the UK.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
