I can only count one reason. Hadn't he already been sick on your stag do by 8pm? Even you made it till 9pm. And he wussed out of drinking the whiskey when he lost the bet.

I wasnt sick, I spilt my pint.

To be fair that volume of Co-op whiskey would kill any man.
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

That co-op whiskey won an award!

Also I've seen the youtube videos remember, no use telling me you spilt your pint!

Whats the other reason you're offended apart from my very honest implication men in your family can't take their booze (for which I'm grateful given the other side of the family drink enough booze to make up for it and then some).

Hmmm, that conversation became a bit exclusive.

My to do list is growing again, I swear that thing has a life of its own. Trying to decide whether to let tiredness win and go to bed, or fight it for a few more hours and get something done.

ETA: Compromised with myself, getting into bed to stay warm, but staying awake.

I think snuggling up in bed sounds like a good idea.

Poppy and Daddy's trip to town went well. My trip to the dentist on the other hand not so good. Need two fillings but he did say wasn't my fault. Is because my wisdom tooth is growing sideways so is hard to clean the side of it and is pushing into the next tooth and making a hole. Thank goodness i have my maternity exemption.

I'd say sleep, naps always help! I've never got out of the nap habit since I was a child! If I don't have a nap well I am a cranky so and so all afternoon and evening. I'm lucky I work in a place where we have a sofa and napping is actively encouraged on lunch breaks. Don't know what I'm going to do when I get a proper job and have to actually work all day!

Managed to finish all my christmas shopping and I have even started to make a Christmas cake! It's the Jane Asher quick one that has good reviews and I'm going to make Mince Pies tomorrow!

Oh my gosh where do you work where you can nap?! I know another pg lady used to use the first aid room for naps... I'm sorely tempted sometimes.

Sorry to hear about the teeth Wendz.

Woke myself up by trying on some maternity clothes I ordered in Dorothy Perkins sale with an extra 20% off code. Absolutely everything except one pair of £8 cotton yoga joggers are going back - why are maternity clothes made of nasty synthetic fabric?!

I work in a Stroke rehab unit so we have quite a nice comfortable staff room compared to the rest of the hospital because we have A) more staff and B) we're doing a more physical job. So we have this rather nasty but surprisingly comfortable green plastic covered sofa and chair set. All this talk of napping makes me want to nap now!

  • Hi all!

Mattress - I would be replacing immediately as a matter of urgency. Mould is so dangerous.

First aid - I got my class for free at the local surestart centre and did it just before I weaned Max, as they were focussing on choking as well as resus. We also did an awareness class when Max was about 5 weeks old. I would be inclined to do it closer to the due date rather than now, as it will be fresher in your mind. NHS Direct is excellent if you are worried (when the baby is born). I used them a few times with Max and they were really good!

NCT classes - I did a hypnobirthing class and also the NHS one. I would highly recommend hypnobirthing. OH did the breathing with me throughout both labours and we have fantastic memories of working as a team rather than him looking helplessly on. He really had a role during the labours. NCT is meant to be great for the social aspect but I hear they can be very hand handed with regards breastfeeding. I met most of the mums I know through a mother & baby group and most of them had lost touch with the others from their NCT class.

Pilates - Go for it. You will probably meet other mums to be and it will keep you nice and fit during the pregnancy.

Advanced driving course - this is going to sound really blunt but can you not just tell NIM to cop on when he is driving and pay attention. Surely he will automatically become more observant when he has your precious little bundle in the back.

    Hope this helps!

Don't forget Dinah, your work are supposed to provide you with a rest area haha. Mine was supposed to be the kitchen...

I found h and m and Topshop quite good for maternity clothes. Think Topshop may only be online apart from the really big stores.

    ChartDecember2011.jpg

    What we’ve done this month.

Celebrated meeting our target last month with a meal out
Cancelled the stove installation and saved the money.
    Paid off Dinah's Next account
    Paid off NIMs Next account
Kept entering gum packets, one more cheque on the way
NIM kept mystery shopping, Dinah not so much.
    Sold 14 items on eBay
    Sold 15 items on Amazon
Checked onepoll a few times a day on a weekday. Now up to £23.05
Started going to a new church, sacrificing a bit of money making time for something that’s important to us.
Had a great 12 week scan

    What we aimed to do:

What we want to do in November

Knock the broadband bill down by activating an o2 sim
    [STRIKE]Replace a car tyre [/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Pay the MOT in cash not credit[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Pay for the car insurance in cash not on a CC or monthly instalments[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Arrange for the stove to be installed[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Pay off the stove installation bill once installed[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Pay off Dinah’s Next account[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Pay off NIMs Next account[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Pay off CC3[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Make £500 from eBay and Amazon sales[/STRIKE] £531.15 Ebay, £101.61 Amazon, minus £21.38 ebay fees and who knows what in postage. This is received money only, some is still pending and some people never paid.
[STRIKE]Make £300 from mystery shopping/auditing [/STRIKE]Dinah: £168 NIM: £182.77(nb these are totals received AND paid off the debt, more may have been received but kept as float)
Get the packaging and first products finalised and in hand Fail. Still at the proof stage
    Query both tax codes
Write to complain to Virgin, Tesco and [STRIKE]the council.[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Declutter 90 things through selling, binning or recycling.[/STRIKE] And then some. I excavated the study from under a mountain of paperwork. I also have obviously sold quite a few things on ebay and amazon, and I have a big box in the hall full of bric a brac type items for next time we get a charity bag through the door.

What we want to do in December

Get the products and packaging in hand as early as possible as some are Christmas themed.
    Pay off OD2
Make £500 between Ebay and Amazon
    Make £300 mystery shopping
    Start Shop and Scan
Get all presents and Christmas cards posted by the 19th December
    Get the car wheels balanced
    Get car serviced
Pay off dad for NIMs bike (£100 which isn't on the debt charts as I forgot about it)
Have the full Christmas menu planned by the 18th
Precook and freeze as many Christmas day items as possible (red cabbage, Yorkshires, roasties, cranberry sauce etc)
Beat the ironing, get it down to only the bucket which has just come out of the washer
    Send off no claims reminder
    Replace mouldy mattress
    Send Tesco complaint
    Send Office complaint
    Send Virgin complaint
    Get NIM to call o2
    Do 10 vine reviews

So, we didn’t make it this month at £72.25 per day, no meal for us in December. If we hadn’t had the car expenses we would have been there or there abouts. I’m very happy that we won’t have the monthly payment for the car insurance for the next year though as it will free up a bit more money on a monthly basis.
