No dramatic story and all was pretty straight forward - although didnt feel it at the time :rotfl: both home the same day as the wards were absolutly jam packed, must be a baby boom going on.

Had a very natural birth with just gas and air. Although did start shouting that I wanted an epidural, but was too late by then, thank god as I really didnt want one as OH kept reminding me while I was telling him to get me one right now :o

Was absolutly no need to worry about him being small as the extra scans had suggested, he was 9lb 3oz - not sure who was more shocked me or the midwide, she was asking where I had been hiding him!

Well started having contractions every 15 minutes on my due date, but they really started to get closer together and stronger around midday on the 6th. By the time I was in established labour (and agony :rotfl:) he was delivered in 11 hours - although I had that much gas and air I lost about 6 hours somewhere along the line :o

Haha quite a long one then! You did very well on the gas and air ( i had 4 tanks lol). Oh and come and post in the parenting thread if you get a chance xx

I got a parcel today from boden, got a 10 pound voucher, 15% off and free delivery so ordered a dress for Poppy, it arrived today and also some boys trousers arrived that i didn't order. They aren't on the bill so haven't been charged, know i should send them back but tempted not to...

Shiney new Diary and already on page 8!

Dinah and NIM, can I just say that I 100% agree with TPA, you really need to concentrate on debt busting and not allow yourself to get into bigger debt. How realistic is that you can pay back all your debts in a year time? Wouldn't it be better to pay off £20k in a year time and really achieve that than aiming for £34k but you know that even with a push it won't happen? Unless you know that you will get a significant lump sum throughout the year? As far as I remember your salaries and disposable incomes are not so high compare it to the amount you have to pay off.

Good luck with everything, it won't be an easy journey especially with doing MA at the same time ( I did 2 ou course while debt busting, overlapping them, it was hard, hard work) but you two can do it.

We can't think in terms longer than a year, and we tried the slowly technique last year and as you can see it really didn't work for us. Besides which I figure I cleared an average of £65 a day on my own, there are two of us now so £104 isn't impossible. We're taking it one day (or week) at a time. I'm just trying to focus on 'what have I done today to make £104' and if I haven't done enough, what can I do to get closer to it. This week has gone well, we're ahead of the game, next week very few mystery shops lined up so might not go as well, but there is always a weekend of ebay.

Oh and no more MA - due to a restructure I'd need to be there 2 days a week and work weren't okay with that, so I will be attending most of the modules as CPD but not doing the assignments so no qualification at the end.

Birdie I would sew the jumper by hand using a wool needle and some wool. Wool needles have a rounded point not a sharp one so it doesn't split the wool fibres. Does that help??
Hmm, never sewn wool before I have to say. What I would probably do is get some cotton fabric as a sort of lining to make sure the wheat doesn't leak out- have that as an enclosed wheat bag and have the the cashmere just as an aesthetic 'case' on the outside. I'd hem the raw edges so they don't fray, then maybe use some colourful embroidery thread and do a blanket stitch for a pretty edging?

Thanks for the tips! I was thinking about making a cotton bag to go inside as I wasn't sure how the cashmere would like being stuck in the microwave/on the radiator! Well when I say I was thinking about making... I mean I was thinking about getting Mum to make them as I'm not exactly a whizz on a sewing machine! I think I remember how to blanket stitch from primary school () so I'll see if Mum/MIL have a wool needle and give it a go!

That's a bit odd/annoying about the MA and not getting a qualification Dinah. :(

Congratulations Flower! :j Noah's a lovely name! I'm really pleased for you! :D:D:D

Sounds like you got a good deal with Boden Wendz, Poppy must be very well dressed! :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!
