Good luck with the list. That is rubbish you maid of honour hasn't made the effort to see you , hope she starts making more effort now.

Birdie - grr about having no money to start your pressies.

I managed to do a survey worth about 7 quid last night so doing well on my survey challenge.

My i-phone arrived but i need a different sim so might go to o2 shop today to get it sorted.

Is the £1650 on top of the work you actually agreed on? Sorry to ask if you've already said, I just can't remember if you actually paid him or not. So so glad it's not the full whack though, must be a weight off!

Great going on that survey, Wendz! Reminds me I have a £3 one in my inbox and the deadline on that's tonight - best get it done :o

Only a quick post, work is pack-a-lacca! Thought I'd share a picture for those wanting to lose weight in October:

    haha love that clip.

Dinah glad the judge was fair and it wasn't as much as it could have been.

Birdie I would sew the jumper by hand using a wool needle and some wool. Wool needles have a rounded point not a sharp one so it doesn't split the wool fibres. Does that help??

  • Thanks for that little piccy Cinny - after the journey to work I've had I had to close my eyes and run past the vending machines in the lobby! I've lost 2 1/4 lbs since Monday though which is brilliant (still not quite back down to my 'official' MFP weight - I don't dare log an increase in case it names and shames me!) - 2.5lbs to my October goal weight :)

Glad the bill wasn't as bad as expected D&N, now give yourselves a shake this morning and make a start on getting it down :D

Oooh Tete, you're a clever sewing lady. I've got a cashmere jumper that OH kindly threw in the regular wash so it shrunk but I can't get rid of it because it's so nice and soft. I want to make 3 or 4 wheat bags out of the body and arms, but how do I sew it since it's like sewing wool?

Hmm, never sewn wool before I have to say. What I would probably do is get some cotton fabric as a sort of lining to make sure the wheat doesn't leak out- have that as an enclosed wheat bag and have the the cashmere just as an aesthetic 'case' on the outside. I'd hem the raw edges so they don't fray, then maybe use some colourful embroidery thread and do a blanket stitch for a pretty edging?

Hi Poddle, hope the placement's going well! Four hours is a massive pain though :( How long will you be there?

That's a nice survey amount Wendz! Hope you get your phone sorted :)

The £1650 was on top of the £1150 we've already paid, she agreed some of his costs were too high which NIM said was worth going to court just to see his face when she said he was only worth £50 a day not £200 and his costs for a door were halved. But she decided the electrical installation was not part of the original contract so that £350 we already paid didn't count.

Yey for baby Noah, what a lovely name. First baby of the new thread. How was your labour? Any dramatic stories? Are you both home now? I need to learn to phrase things so it's not coming over as an interrogation!
