  • One gripe tho':o & it's one of those that you just go "typical" at .....

Last 4 orders I've done for the cats, I've done on a Thursday night (latish) and they've arrived on Saturday (without paying extra for Sat delivery;))

Anyway, placed an order on Friday morning (early) and didn't think it would come on Sat but did think it would arrive yesterday ...... but no!

Arrrgggghhhh - only think I can think is to leave the garage door unlocked :(. Don't particularly like leaving it open overnight ...... grrrrrrr

  • Well .... I'm home!:)

Lovely to have a change of scene for 24 hours - but hate being away from home so glad to be back again:o

Had lots of Maisie cuddles :D *sigh* she's a lovely wee person ..... missing her again already - she's been spoilt rotten by DM & DF and gets on fab with their dog so has someone to play with ..... *sigh* she's fab:j

Dilemma alert ....... discovered yesterday morning that my passport runs out in a few weeks:eek: (I knew it was 2013 but thought it was much later in the year - and certainly not January!).

Do I renew it or not?

Couldn't believe the cost - £72.50  (or £80 odd if you use the PO checker thing):eek::eek:

I've never used this one for going abroad :o and am highly unlikely to do so with any replacement BUT I know it can be needed for things like ID checks for jobs / bank accounts etc (and did have to send it when I changed mortgage lender last year).

It's a bloomin' lot of money! (sure it was about £20 the last time I did it) and, from what I can tell from the direct.gov website - it seems to be the same to renew a current one or get a totally new one - which doesn't seem right to me at all (surely a renewal shouldn't cost as much!)?????

    So ...... what to do??

Glad you had a lovely time

Passport, I let mine expire in 2011, and I only plan to renew it just before I next go on holiday. I use my driving licence for ID checks, and a utility bill if I need more. Never had any problems. It is ridiculously expensive to renew now.

Ohhhh thanks for that - I do have a driving license and my birth certificate so assuming that should do for most things.....

Hate the thought of not having a passport - like I'm stuck & can't go away :o but I never go anyway so could really do with not spending £70 odd .....

  • *sigh* - switched my council tax to 12 months a couple of years ago...... it's about £25/month cheaper so helps with balancing the books but I do get a bit envious when everyone says .... "I'm going to get xxx" on their free months!

It's a lot of money for a "just in case" ....
