OMG it's still raining
- just ventured out to try to sweep some of the water off the flooded patio
(the slabs have sunk in the middle over the years - before my time I will add;) so the water just pools there - and of course, it's right in front of the door). Sure it'll be just as bad again in an hour or so :rotfl: Bottom end of the garden is also flooded and I also have pools on the lawn.... hey ho, the great British summer!
Cats are starting to go stir crazy not being able to get out and Maisie looks fairly bored too! Will need to brave it at some point and take her for a walk somewhere - but have no idea where we can go that won't be awful ......
Managed to blow the plugs in the house this morning  but thankfully have managed to get everything back on (must go & check the garage ) - DM gave me her old iron which had stopped working so she'd bought a new one, but then the old one worked the next time she tried it so she gave it to me (love that iron, it's so smooth and easy to use and doesn't make a noise when the steam comes out - unlike mine which hisses & Maisie is terrified of it!), however, it must've been a dodgy connection or something as tripped the fuse as soon as I plugged it in- it's now in iron heaven:rotfl:
About to watch the F1 qualifying ....... which looks like it'll be a soggy affair too!

Not much of a saving at all at V UK
My guins are fussy beggars and no where sells the food they like locally so I'm stuck buying online for them.
Eeek poor iron, it never even got to enjoy retirement:rotfl:

I saw pics on the TV earlier of them all in their wellies!
Bloomin' cold - I have given in and put the heating on  for an hour. I've already been for a bath to defrost myself and starting to cool down again so no option (medical condition means I don't regulate heat well & when I get cold, I cannot warm up without going in the bath ..... and there's only so many you can have in a day! & I guess it's probably just as cheap to put the heating on for an hour as heat the water 3 times!).
Only got the hall radiator on so hopefully it'll just take the chill off the house - it was down to 14 deg  (inside) which is just a bit cool to be sitting around in (have a vest:eek:, thick t-shirt & fleece jumper on!).
Had a really bad storm here around 5:30 am - honestly, it was more like one you'd get in Oct / Nov time than bloomin' July ....
Really hope it gets a bit warmer as need to have heating off / heat less water to balance out my gas / elec d/debit over the year as really can't afford to pay more!:eek:Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

*sigh* back to work tomorrow
haven't done a lot while I've been off as the weather has been a bit errr pants (although I have had the odd dry day & have been able to get out & about most days - just not as far away as I'd usually venture when I'm off).
Good news is that wee cat finally seems to have got over her fear of Maisie :j (only taken 2 months!) and has been wandering around downstairs a lot more & is currently headbutting her!:D awwwww She's even been paddling on "her" sheepskin rug today(she used to do this everyday and I haven't seen her do it once since Ben died)
Well, guess I'd better go and "sort myself out" for tomorrow ..... *sigh*Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

I've just realised how much less I obsess about money when I'm not at work ...... I know it does get out of control when I'm really stressed (that's the OCD taking over) - mmmmmm think I need to find a way to give up work! :rotfl:
Medical condition is a lot better when I'm not working too - I was advised to "retire" when I was diagnosed (at 27!) ....... honestly I wonder what planet some Drs live on - how am I supposed to keep a roof over my head etc if I don't work!:(
I'd love to be able to drop even an hour a day as I get so bloomin' exhausted - but just no way I can afford to.....
Anyway ..... lets see how long it is before the stress starts again!:oGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
