My BF suggests a thin knife would work although he says he's never had a piggy bank (that's his Christmas present sorted then :rotfl:).
  • mmmmm bit of an odd day ...... rain, sun, rain, sun etc etc

Can't get outside long enough to do anything useful tho' - thankfully the peas seem to be looking after themselves :rotfl:and lots of lovely little pea pods have appeared in the past couple of days.

Managed to have a walk with Maisie in the dry which is a plus just now .... in fact, both have been in the dry today which must be a first!:D

Paid the window cleaner & bought her a new bag of food - she's still on a mix of the 2 and seems to be suiting her so think I'll stick to that and see how it goes.

I just don't feel comfortable moving 100% to the cheaper food (£17 for 15kg) but she seems to have a bit of a WARNING THIS MAY BE TMI FOR SOME upset tum if she's totally on the wheat / grain free one (£24.50 for 15kg).

Also still got a bag of the stuff that I thought upset her tum when I first got her ..... thinking it may have been the old food that she arrived with (as that certainly did) so I may try to use this up by adding a couple of scoops everytime I fill the tub up.

New cat litter is working well :j - worked out last night that, if predictions of usage come true, it'll cost £56 / year :)..... currently spending around £150ish  so that's a pretty good saving.

Sorry:o .... just whittered on about dog food & cat litter for ages - which is probably of no interest to anyone!:rotfl:

I'm a little bored TBH - on hols & skint so can't afford to do anything. Nothing new there :rotfl: but usually go to places a bit further away for nice walks with the dog and just not worth the fuel etc when it's pelting down all the time!:o

Window cleaner :o - I did cancel him for around a year but he's been reinstated.

    The windows are awning type

but don't turn right the way over IYKWIM so it's impossible (believe me - my BFF tried as she couldn't believe I had to get a window cleaner) to clean the upstairs ones.

I'm errrr not good with heights so getting up a ladder to do them is out too unfortunately.

    Hi Rising

Have you had a look at Vet UK for Maisie's food? Their prices are pretty good and delivery is free over £19 I get the buns & guineas food from them. They also use a good courier who text you to let you know what time the delivery will be with you.
I think you can also set it up to re-order automatically.

Hope you have a good day & the rain stops long enough for you & Maisie to get a good walk!!

  • Thanks Badger - I've used Vet UK a few times but usually only get her food there if it's on offer (sometimes get 2 bags with a fair bit off).

At everyday prices, one bag is only 60p cheaper and the other £2 cheaper than at my local pet shop so I tend to just get it there as I try to support local businesses where I can & if it's not too much extra IYKWIM.

  • OMG .... hold onto your hats everyone ...... I managed to get some washing dried outside today :rotfl:

Only dog towels (can't believe the rate I'm still going through these - in the winter it's expected but in the summer:mad:) as don't put my stuff out just now anyway as far to much pollen around but still......

Had a pretty good day :) - DM came to visit and went to the garden centre. Had come vouchers left from my birthday .... and didn't spend them :rotfl:why is it when you have something to spend, you don't see anything you want and when you don't - you see loads of things you like:p

Had a nice lunch & DM treated me to 2 t-shirts that I'd found in the sale (£8 for the 2 ;)) - nothing fancy but will try to keep them for errrr not walking the dog in!:)

Popped to Ikea - yup again!:rotfl: DM never gets to go & thought of something else she wanted - even after me going for her the other day - huge spend of 75p ;) for me!:D Then to Sainsbobs where I got a few bits - total of £20 spent but some of it was cat food (separate budget from groceries) so will need to update spreadsheets / sig shortly.

Came home & took Maisie for a walk - it was very muddy in the woods & she has a bit of a "thing" for muddy puddles :eek: honestly - clean covers in the car & they're needing washed already .... she was literally CAKED from nose to tail & so bad I had to take the hose to her before she could come in the house  (which she doesn't like!).

Managed to retrieve some huge storage tubs I'd taken down to DMs ages go & these will each take one of the 15kg bags of her food :j (and are stackable:j) so few pennies saved there too!:j:j

All in all - a good day I think!

Now ..... just need to find something for dinner - meant to get something at Sainsbobs & forgot!:o
