  • OMG has anyone found anything that actually works for hayfever?

Honestly, sneezed all morning (and most of yesterday too) - eyes are red, sore & yukky & nose is streaming ........ have taken anti-histamines, nasal spray & used eye drops and am about to go for a lie down with a cold, wet face cloth to try to stop the burning in my eyes:(

Honeysuckle is out in next doors garden, privot hedge about to flower with the elderflower trees about to bloom too ...... I hate July :o

Did hang washing out earlier but took it in after around 10 mins as decided I didn't want it to get covered with pollen..... *sigh*

Lovely sunny day for a change but can't go outside or it'll get worse (still recovering from taking Maisie from her walk nearly 3 hours ago!)

    Sorry ..... moaning ....:o

Local honey is supposed to be good Rising because you're getting the local pollen into your system and build an immunity to it.
Hope you do find something that works for yousmiley-sick010.gif

I have used New Era Combination H for 25 years, they are homoeopathic and work for me. I have recommended them to friends and family over the years, some have said they work others have said they did not.

Oilseed rape sets me of so it's May for me, and once started anything including cheap perfumes and body sprays set me off. The one benefit of the wet weather is the levels are low this year and so far I am free:D.

Funnily enough, the oilseed rape doesn't bother me a huge amount (yes I sneeze when it's in full bloom, but nothing like just now).

I now have ulcers on both eyes :( which is driving me nuts - the heat that comes off them is unbelievable. Honestly, just got (yet another) freezing cold face cloth and had it over my eye for literally 10 seconds and took it away and the face cloth was really warm where it had been next to my eye.

    Roll on winter :o

Hayfever has been really bad down here this year - we are a bit ahead of you with pollens - the big one this month is hedge flowers especially laurels. I use flixonase nasal spray and any eye drops all year round as I get it from March to January - after hayfever comes leaf mould allergy with exactly the same symptoms. This year I have taken a zirtek twice in addition but I think the local honey and an accumulated use has got it under control.

I also have an electric fan on in the bedroom which I swear by. Sorry to hear you are suffering so badly

  • Well, I've been naughty and fallen off the MSE wagon :o

I treated myself to a rather gorgeous purse in John Lew*is ..... now I did need a new purse but since it had a rather well known dog mentioned on it ..... it may also fall into the want category :o

But, I did use the birthday money that was saved when I was treated to my meal out by friends (and I did promise I would buy myself something that I wouldn't normally buy with it) .... so only cost me £9 in real terms.

Last years birthday money went on paying bills and was determined to get something nice out of this years' (it was a big birthday:o) ......but still feeling a bit guilty as funds are really tight just now (but it is gorgeous:D) .... does anyone else suffer huge guilt trips after buying something for yourself - even if it has been covered (or very nearly) by something like birthday money?

On the + side - I did manage not to buy a handbag too (my big vice) - so I guess that's something:rotfl:

Ahem... you can't say you've bought a bag and not provide a picture/link of bag!
