  • Think I forgot to mention my cc problems :( - basically card has been cancelled as someone tried to put through over £3.5k:eek: of online purchases on Mon & Tues:mad:. Luckily the cc company realised it wasn't "normal activity" but it'll be 10 days before the new card arrives .....

Not great when my budgeting consists of putting everything on the cc and clearing each month :( - have major cash flow problems as need to clear last months bill (as usual) and try to find money for things that would usually have gone on the card:(.

I may need to raid a pot  and pay it back at the end of the month - can't see any other option unfortunately - I am absolutely hopeless with cash and never use my debit card for anything for this reason ......:eek::eek: Dinky is just about dry - wish I'd known the card was going to be cancelled before they did it and at least I could've filled up with fuel first.... still at least they've spotted it before it got any worse.

:eek::eek: to someone trying to use your cc and it being cancelled. Good job the company spotted it.

    Raid a pot?
Hope you get it sorted and the replacement card turns up soon.

    Hi Rising,

One thing you could do is ask your bank for a temporary overdraft limit (increase) to relieve the cash-flow issue your cloned CC is causing - my bank (HSBC) was really good when I needed to do this for a month a few years ago after DH wallet was stolen and the cards were all sold on :eek:

On that occasion it was actually that bank that rang me to say there was unusual activity on the account so I have stayed with them because of the level of customer service I received.

I hope your cats settle BTW, one of our previous cats lived under my bed for nearly 3 years before venturing out after the other cat died. Good luck with Maisie.

    Like Maisie. :D

Also just wanted to say, I saw a woman in M&S the other day wearing a scarf just like that. It was in shades of grey & black and I thought it looked very unusual and quite funky. (Daughter would cringe at that...apparently only 'old folk' use that word these days, lol).

Anyway, I'd be delighted if someone gave me one as a present.

Awwww thanks - funnily enough I was at the market last weekend and someone was selling them on a stall - I think they were looking for £10 for them which isn't bad ... not sure if they were HM ones or not!

Not much change from last week! (have gone back to my once / month transfer when I get the cc bill but trying to keep track of spends)

    Pets £241.86
    Spent £119.20  = £122.66 *
    Car & House £462.44 Spent £8.99 = £453.45 #
    Others £115.27
    Savings £79.55

    * Cats bit healthy (£90 ish) but Maisie's budget has been decimated! Cost of jabs in here & also a lot of "setting up costs" IYKWIM - new collar, lead, bed, big bag of food - will last several weeks etc. She's getting spayed at the end of the month so not quite sure where that's coming from:eek:
