Awwwww thank you Silva
I had to re-start it after I posted earlier(I had to unravel & start again as the first attempt went a bit wrong:o) so maybe around 3 1/2 hours?
It's a bit fiddly getting used to the wool (very different from "normal" stuff) but just about got the hang of it by the end! (and hopefully will be quicker on the next one;))
I will def be sticking with the crochetingand really pleased I went this morning as I've wanted to learn for years (and years). My fingers were quite sore from trying to get to grips with the needle/wool so couldn't do anymore today (hence the knitting) but I will be having another go tomorrow!:)

Yep, gets the SL seal of approval too! I hope you had a good day. You're right about a bit of me-time! Revitalises the bits other things can't reach!
All the best

Ohhhhhh - I've always been "stuck" when it comes to trying to make pressies as not really that great craft wise!
I need things I can do quickly as I tend to be a "plough away until it's done" type of person and ..... if I can't go it quickly enough, I get bored and never finish things
It was just under £5 for the ball (on the high side compared to what I normally pay) but if I can "do" pressies for that amount, I'm a happy Rising!:D
PS It's really warm- currently wrapped around my neck as I was a bit chilly!:) (I often wear scarves in the house as most of my tops/jumpers are v-necks and I often get cold around the neck - saves putting the heating on!)

Weekly pots update
Didn't get around to this yesterday - or doing the round-down:o (to busy knitting & crocheting!) but it has been done now!
Pets £231.34
House & Car £347.32 (House Ins renewal due May @ £238)
Others £20.23
Savings £71.79 (really like seeing this go up every week - even if some weeks it's only a couple £s)
They are due their monthly "feed" tomorrow - payday at last!!!:j
Will be reverting to my once a month transfers (to pay things when the cc bill arrives) after the mess I got into this month!:o
Hate my bank sometimes - my pay is showing in my account with tomorrow's date against it (along with all the d/debits due to come out tomorrow) ..... does that mean I can transfer it now or will that make me OD?Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

What to do today .....
It was looking OK out when I got up but is now raining (again!) so that's scuppered plans to try to do some gardening (poor garden is looking very neglected atm.
mmmmmmm maybe some practicing my crocheting skills and I guess I could always knit another scarf!:D
Sure the next one will be better (this one's not perfect!) - however a bit of a dilemma ...... wool cover says to use 5 stitches / row but the lady in the shop said they were better with 7 stitches as they're slightly thicker (and quite a nice thickness around your neck which I can vouch for:)) but that means they're obviously not as long.
It will go around your neck twice but no scarf left to hang down - there is enough to have round your neck & tied at the front but if you can follow that then :rotfl:...... mmmmmm
Wish I could see a thinner one to see how thin it is IYKWIM as an extra couple of inches in length would be good - but not worth it if it's really thin but then it may be long enough to wrap right around your neck & have hang down bits - oh dear :rotfl:Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Would you be happy if you got one as a pressie?
Honest answers please:)
I most certainly would, its fab. My opinion is, a lot more love and effort gone into anything home made. Its easy to go to a shop and buy something.

Fab, I have found that, friends and family are more than happy with home made gifts.
I may be repeating myseft here ? I made my friend a gift, a photograph album full of pics of our days out and comments underneath each picture. I left spaces for new pictures. It moved her to tears, she loved it.
I am quite a crafty person.........:rotfl: It took quite a while for me to realize that my crafts are good enough to sell. My Ebay is 100% so everyone happy. I sell my knitting on Ebay. I do not sell for extortionate prices. Everyone is looking for a bargain. I just knit to occupy my mind on nights at work. As long as I cover my costs, posting and a little profit, I am happy. I just let in build up in my Paypal.

My experience with HSBC was that I transferred specifying "tomorrow's" date and they showed my accound as OD for that day - but they did not charge me as at close of business I was back in credit.
I would do it tomorrow after 4.30pm to be sure

I LOVE the scarf. I wish I was more crafty than I actually am... but I have no artistic talent whatsoever.Ninja Saving Turtle0
