  • Hello ... I'm back!:D

Had a lovely time :) and it was absolutely fabby to see Maisie :D - thankfully she still remembers me  and we had lots of cuddles and tummy tickles.

It's really funny as when she's not seen me for a while, she gets so excited at first that she has mini-widdles everywhere - so it's def a case of the first meeting being outside :rotfl:

Awwwww she's adorable :D great to see her but bitter-sweet as it does make me realise just how much I miss her ..... can't wait until she's home but it may still be a while yet :(

Nearly had heart failure this morning as opened my curtains and there was SNOW outside  - had a mini-panic as it hadn't been forecast (and we did check on Sunday before DM came to get me) as I had to be back today as have a work OH appt :( tomorrow.....

Thankfully it was OK by mid morning :)

  • Bloomin cats ...... love 'em to pieces BUT

Ended up having to separate cats before I left - I'd had to break up 3 fights (nasty fights - not just usual fisti-cuffs) on Sunday morning & didn't want to take the chance leaving them for 24 hours with no one to intervene.

Shut wee cat in the lounge - it's a big room and "her" room where she spends most of her time so she's happy in here (and was in here for 3 months when they were separated last time:() and left big cat with the run of the house.

It's him that's starting it - he won't go out so someone's obviously beaten him up out there & he's trying to prove he's still "a man" and pick on her all the time.....

Maisie not being here won't be helping as she does tend to provide a bit of a distraction and they certainly don't squabble as much when she's here (same when Ben was here)..... mmmmm

I don't really want to have to separate them totally again as it's a PITA and takes ages for reintroductions so think I'll leave her stuff in the lounge (so it's quick / easy to separate them if needed) but leave the door open and see how it goes... fingers crossed.

yikes to the cats fighting rising, it must be quite worrying for you, do you have those hormone things that are aimed at settling cats?

Yup, it's a total pain .... I've had to have them separated totally 3 times in the past - a couple of weeks the first time but it was 3 months + the 2nd  and I'd had to separate them again just before I got Maisie - just to prove how beeping fickle they are - when they saw her, they both united in shocked horror that another dog had come in the house and got of OK for a while

It's a dominance thing ... and it tends to be a) when big cat's been in a fight outside (and probably lost) or b) when there's no dog here to keep them distracted!

I do have one of the plug in things - unfortunately the cartridge is empty - but I think I may just order another one and plug it in in the hall upstairs as there's a plug just outside the only room they really both go into (their litter tray / food is in my office)

Thanks .... off to have a hunt for the cheapest (which they're not!) one I can find!
