Reading this thread, the most useful remark was by Custardy in the first replay to the OP - 'have you checked the item number relates to a package delivered by your local delivery office? It states the name of the delivering office on the track and trace page.'
The OP has still to answer this simple question....................
Jeez, yes. It was the first thing that I checked. I wouldn't have bothered posting on here otherwise.
As for the other arguments about collecting more than just a signature.... this morning I took delivery of a Recorded Delivery item - they asked me to print my name and to sign. Also, looking at the track & trace scan, there is a section that says 'Print Name' and a section that says 'Check and Sign'. Only the signature is captured.0 -
Thanks to everyone who provided advice. Not sure we reached a resolution, but there is plenty of food-for-thought.
