Hi Megela, weirdly enough I've just made OH try it and it is a bit hard, but just spreadable! I might rename it to damson cheese :rotfl:it was nice with a bit of cheese and ryvita that we tried as an experiment.

Well I did jump the gun on the redundancy situation - it was nothing to do with that and more to do with another restructure (oh and another new boss - however, this one I really like!)

No money news to report :( just putting an order in at the shop so actually spending money instead of saving!!

    Afternoon all..

Not much money saving to be found this week.
    • £25 premium bond moved to savings (i'd forgot:o)
    • OH has sold 6 music-y things on EBay making £129 - goes towards the £400 he spent last weekend on a new music-y thing
    • 1 hour of overtime done (by choice rather than pressure :j) still done 20 already this month and next week is busy week!
    • small win on thunderball last night, reinvested tonight :rotfl:
    • £1.64 TT
I'm currently making some damson chutney.. I was going to make some chilli jam but I realised that I didn't have any garlic until tonight's shopping :doh:so that will have to wait till tomorrow.

Also reboiled my lime and lemon marmalade to get it to set better and re-potted into nicer jars.

    have a great afternoon xx

Well we've been shopping this morning to try and get some ideas for Xmas presents (mainly for the sister as everyone else is getting the hampers) but i'm still drawing a blank!

I really don't want to buy "stuff" that may not be used, but just don't know what to get :(

I managed to bag a bargain in Deb*nhams for us. They had 25% off homeware so got a tefal wok(reduced from £40 then with discount too) and some teatowels for £20, but I paid with vouchers so cost to me was £0 :j

We also have a new addition to the family :o meet Fred

I just couldn't resist!! He adds the Christmas vibe to the kitchen..

Just a quick update - If anyone likes Th0rntons then Sainsbugs have a goodish offer at the moment, 1/2 price on certain boxes.

    A 200g premium box was £3(usually £6) and the bigger premium box £5.50 (£11).

I needed some to put in my hampers, so I picked up 4 boxes plus a few chocolate lollipops for the kids. I spent only 62p though as I had a gift card and nectar points :j:j brilliant shop!!

Got my jar labels printed off earlier too, so time to make the jars look pretty and start making my hampers! :T

    xx

Wow! 23 hours overtime in a week. Hardcore!

Loving your kitchen - the cabinets are very similar to my cabinets. Classy and Classic as I like to say :)

In principle I don't actually agree with overtime as I think it gets really abused (especially in our company), but in reality I'm glad I get paid for it.

I think it should indicate the fact that there is a problem in the department but it just get ignored and we all struggle on

Yes, I have a job too that can offer Overtime. I flipflop over the issue in that we should have enough time during our work week to carry out all tasks relating to our job in that time not be doing overtime as we have too much work to actually finish it all. On the other hand, we had no overtime last month and I am really dreading being on basic pay especially coming up to the C word!

What a shame about the cabinets - could you not maybe get a handyman round for a day to sort out the doors properly?
