which broadband provider?

I want to change my broadband provider from Talk Talk as i am sick of paying lots of money on their customer service helpline (spent £6 on mobile the other day as do not have a touch tone landline phone) only to not have my problems resolved! have narrowed my choice down to the following contenders:
1)BE
2)Tesco
3)o2
4)Plusnet
This is based on unlimited (or near enough) downloads and free or uk based technical helplines.
Does anyone have any experiences with these providers. I am drawn to Plusnet I think but the 60mb cap concerns me as I am used to unlimited. We do not have a TV, so listen to loads of music on spotify and watch about 1.5 hours tv a day on iplayer/itv player on average. We often stream radio too.We do not play video games or anything on it. Any advice?

LLU options?
https://www.samknows.com, do an exchange search.
Tesco and Plusnet are just BT resellers, BE are owned by 02.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Like me - get a upgrade to TT Fibre ( BT Infinity resold ) and watch your non TT LLU internet work flawlessly !
TT Plus package on Fibre cost me £29 through rententions in my first 30 days as I went to MAC out as not satisfied with service or staff attitude/failures.
38MB, unlimited BB, unlimited landlines & line rental £29SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe

hi dolly 74
ive been with TT for a few years now and the only way I found to resolve problems was to keep e-mailing them until they understand what you are asking!
hope this is helpful

Best way to sort things with TT is through their forums. http://www.talktalkmembers.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=41
As macman says, use samknows to narrow down who services your exchange. If you're a heavy user then BE are possibly your best option. Customer Services is in Sofia, Bulgaria, but their English is good and it's a freephone number from a landline. They also have a geographical support number which suits mobiles, especially if you have contract minutes. Their support forum is also good, and you'll find staff on there regularly, and on the IRC channel.0 -
You can get a "touch tone" landline phone for about £4. But are you sure your phone doesn't have tone dialling - it must be really ancient if it doesn't. Unless it's >20 years old it's likely to have a switch which you set to tone dialling. Dialling will be a lot faster as well as being able to use the annoying "press 1 for this, press 2 for that" menus.0

zagfles - yes it is a Touch tone phone. I was given it and to be honest the cost would have still been alot on a landline so thats not really the issue.
bod1467 - emailing is fine IF YOU HAVE A CONNECTION but the problems I have mean I do not have an internet connection hence me phoning them. Therefore I cannot email them when this happens.
This morning TT have sent me a new router! I have already told them I am leaving them and got my MAC code so do not know what is going on there. Don't know whether to just keep it anyway and see if they ask for it back as they obviously do not know what they are doing.
Diamonds - just checked and cannot get the fibre optic one in my area.0 -
It was henrie that said about emailing, not me.

Calls to TT CS are free from your TT landline. Although it's an 0870 number they don't charge you for calls to it.0 -
BE* are absolutely superb. They do not have UK call center staff, but I have never found that an issue (for one thing I have only ever had reason to call them once in the four years I've been with them ...).
