Morning, well my elation was short lived! I downloaded avast then started on iTunes but then got an error message. It said itunessetup[1]exe.application error - the application failed to initialize properly (0x8000003).

When I tried to open internet explorer, I got iexplore.exe and the same message.

I'm hoping this is a minor thing after installing the antivirus, can anyone help please?

before going OTT on installing too many applications, you need to download all the windows updates, especially the .NET Framework ones, as many newer applications will depend on all these to work properly. It will take a good while to do, but get windows up to date before anything else

Also, make sure all your hardware drivers are updated, as this will also have an effect.
