Hi, it was just programmes that I don't use, TomTom, old work thing, photos...or so I thought, obviously not though. I didn't get any warning box appear and I left everything that said Microsoft alone.

I will do this now. I just restart it?
Actually now that I think about it, after I went on my deleting frenzy, it was working great. It was really fast, internet working fine, really fast in fact, I was feeling rather pleased with myself! It was only when I switched it off, then started up again maybe 20 mins later that I realised there were problems. I didn't delete/move anything between the time it was working and then it starting up again. Restarting it obviously kicked in something though..0 - 
            Today I decided that it was time to take action so I ran the disk cleanup and defragmenter and removed some unknown/unused programmes.
General rule of thumb for future reference - If you don't know what it is, or what it does, don't remove it!

            just a thought, you haven't switched the wifi switch off have you ??? right-side button of the row of 5 above the keyboard ??......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
