Could someone tell me how Legal Services Commission can apply to Land Registry to register a charge on my home (formerly the matrimonial home) without being able to tell me how much I owe them?
I have been paying a monthly amount for 20 months and on advice of my solicitor I stopped paying the standing order on 1st October as she said she would inform them the certificate was 'discharged'. The letters were dated 7th October- less than a week after the payment to them was due! Solicitor said today she has no idea why legal Services have done this.
My main worry is that the letter states interest will be calculated from date of registering charge. I have money in the bank ready to pay any amount owing- but until I receive an invoice I do not know how much I owe.
    Any advice gratefully received

yes because even if you are separated, the fact that I have moved on - he could infact divorce me for adultery if he wishes.... and i would sign in an instant just to get it done and dusted... i guess i feel differently to him... he has accepted the split but it was 100% my decision to seperate after YEARS of craaaap

Only one person can apply for a divorce when you separate. Who ever applies first in this case you decides the reasons for the divorce. You ex cannot now apply to divorce you.

I divorced my ex for adultery.
He wasn't happy but I wasn't in a hurry to divorce so I just waited. When he wanted to marry the other women he accepted divorce on the grounds of his adultery. She was named on the divorce papers too.

I am in the early stages of all this, and my solicitor told me that the LSM will begin to register a charge towards the eend of a legal process to protect their claim-some people might quickly sell and the LSC would be unable to register the charge and ensure payment. As far as I am aware, they don't have to give an actual amount until the papers go before a judge (this takes some weeks), and by then, I would imagine that you will have your bill and can pay it?

Glad to hear it - have been silently following this thread. ;)

One little suggestion if it goes tats up again and he starts with the texting...tell your solicitor to warn him off or you will report him for harrassment.

Never ever ever respond to texts/emails/calls with an ex when there's something legal going on.
