    Today has been bad spendingwise.

    £3.35 lunch
£9 pub, first of a few leaving drinks
    £6.08 supermarket

I shouldn't have bought lunch. I bought a massive flapjack then felt sick after eating it. Greedy pig.

Well next time you can eat half and be porky over 2 days instead... ;)
Feel like a MSE failure today. :(

Is flapjack worse than bombay mix? That's what I have just eaten too much of. I might as well eat lard :rotfl:

    Lard is good for you:

  • Thanks for all the comments, love the eat lard pic!

Just on my way to work, have woken up with terrible sore throat so need to buy throat sweets. I also need a stamp, am hoping I can buy a single one and don't have to buy 6.

    Another rainy morning :(

I wanted one stamp, but had to buy six today. When did they get so blooming expensive? I wish I could give you one of the five I don't need:cool:

It'll be Christmas soon, so they'll soon go.

Though saying that, I still had some from Christmas 2007 - that'll teach me to buy in bulk...

  • Well life has really gotten in the way the last few days. I left my job yesterday, start in the new one on Monday. I'm quite scared about starting the new job, but it's more money, and only 15 minutes walk away - rather than 2 buses and 2.5 hours travelling a day....

I'll move from mid month pay to month end pay, so I'm going to be six weeks without pay now.

I'm already having trouble saying no to things, have been invited to a Ceilidh that a friend has organised, I have a night out to attend, and potentially a Christening to go to. I have to be strong and start saying no to things, these are the only things I can do now, I just don't have the spare money to socialise as much, and the socialising I do is going to have to be a lot cheaper than I'm used to. I will have to drink less, or not drink at all.

Not drinking at all would probably be a better option!

For my leaving present I got a £50 Next voucher, so I can get some bits for work. I think I'll need a new suit, so that should cover almost all the cost of it. I don't know whether to go this weekend, so I can start my new job in a smart new suit, or to wait and see what other people are wearing.

Hardly firstworld problems I know. I'm incredibly lucky that the biggest things on my mind are what to wear for a new job and that I need to say no to the things I get invited to.

I know what you mean, but I tend to find people stop asking you to stuff if you say no all the time, it's happened before when I've been really skint and had to say no to lots of stuff.

(Then again, REAL friends wouldn't be like that would they!)
