  • Well I've fallen off the MSE bandwagon with a bump, although haven't incurred any more debt I have eaten into the savings. We had our fridge freezer break over one of the hot weekends, which resulted in pretty much all the frozen food we had in spoiling, and then we've had to pay the fees for our transfer of equity, and also have fees coming up to pay for our wills. All this on top of trying to buy things for the baby.

I'm looking for good deals and using ebay as much as possible for baby things, the only expensive thing we've yet to buy is our pram, which comes to about £400...

We have my OH's kids with us for a full week - I've never known food disappear so quickly from the fridge. Plus they're incredibly fussy and won't eat much fruit and veg. So to avoid giving in to them eating cakes, biscuits etc I've said if they're that desperately hungry they can have some cereal as a snack - meaning we're going through about 4 pints of milk a day. I did buy some really cheap biscuits for them, but they've turned their noses up at that, knowing if they natter their dad enough he'll buy them more expensive junk. They really are spoilt and selfish.
