Sainsburys huge promotion starting wednesday

From Wednesday until 31st December all branded products bought in Sainsburys that are higher in price in Asda or Tesco will result in you recieving a voucher for the difference. So if you were to buy for example bells whiskey for 18.99 in sainsburys but at tesco its 15.99 you recieve a £3 voucher!!

Thanks for that - so being a beginner at this, can I do my shopping at Sainsburys, go home and check the receipt online against Tesco and Asda, mark and price differences and take it back to Sainsburys for any vouchers?

If so, I am going have an interesting weekend after shopping

no even better than that sainsburys will print out the vouchers at the till as their systems have been linked to asda and tescos websites:money:

What is the point? If the whisky is cheaper in T's why not buy it in T's? After all, the £3 voucher can presumably only be spent in Sainsburys.

guessing the point is why shop around and to be fair sainsburys own brand is much nicer aswell

The point is that busy mums don't have the time to run around the big 3 stores which may be miles apart from each other to get the best deals on everything. I welcome this from sainsburys, even better than asda and tesco where the customer actually has to fiddle around online once home.

I do buy a lot of unbranded though and wish it applied to those too!

Excellent - I do most of my shopping (mostly their own brand) at Sainsburys, but might see what I can get from them this weekend

But the example given is for Bells Whisky, not an own brand.

I can appreciate that a lot of people, especially mums with young children often don't have the time to shop around, but most people on these forums do, which is really the whole raison d'etre of MSE.

They trialed it over here in NI, and it's really good as you don't need to shop around. You don't have to waste time at CS or sitting on the computer entering receipt details either, it all happens at the till when you pay. You will either get a coupons to tell you how much you have saved or a coupon to spend in store. :j
