See my other reply. The buyer paid £ 2.75 but you ony received £ 1.43 of it. Not much profit on the postage element which makes 1p videos a bit of a loss.
Thanks for that. Do you remember how much it cost for you to post it? :)

The cheapest you can post a VHS tape for is £1.39 2nd class, or £1.70 first class. That's to UK only, not sure of the international rates. I also believe that the figure quoted by Amazombie is that which would be received by a Pro-Merchant seller, non pro would be hit with an 88p closing fee!

You could send cheaper if you removed the tape from the cassette, folded it neatly and mail it as a large letter!!

  • A general question...

What book to sale ratio do people tend to have? (ie how many books listed to number of average sales)?

And with this ratio what type of books make up the majority of the listings (ie 1p books etc)?

I have listed about 250 books and have sold 150 or so of these ....most of my books listed are non-fiction and are worth between £2 - £20 I guess. Just wondering what works for others as Im thinking about bulk buying lots of books and not being as selective as I am at the mo when buying...

    Cheers guys
    Dec - 21 Books
    Jan - 100 Books
    Feb - 89 Books
    March - 38 and counting

    Hi

I've got over 4000 listed, but have been really lazy recently (apart from working full time and having a family life) and have not been buying or listing new stuff. Consequently my sales are currently appalling!!!

Last 7 days sales showing up as 21.

I've always found that proportionally newer listed stuff goes faster, old stuff just trickles out. Also, with so many books I never check prices so have probably dropped off the front page of items for sale.

  • My sales have completely died over the last week. I have over 900 listed and sold about 3 over the last 7 days.
