Do people actually win money at casino's? Sorry, I have never been to one so I don't know. I am just wondering because ESA have upped the fees for they are desperate and I think it would be rude for me to not accept it.

Had a small win on the tables but lost it again.

Did better on the machines and managed to win back just over the spend limit given to me by the company which I kept :D
Here I go again on my own....
  • Hi All!

I'm pretty new to mystery shopping - in fact to date I have only done 3 jobs. I'm really looking forward to getting to know you all too and hopefully get to be part of what looks like a lovely little community. But I'd love it if anyone could give me any little tips and tricks you have picked up along the way, or point out any pitfalls that I should avoid.

This might sound silly but I do have an assignment up that involves timing things to the second and I wonder what people have found works best for them.

Over and out for now! :D

Not taking the burger jobs GapBuster do until they at least double the fee is a good start hehehe :rotfl::rotfl:

Welcome to the board Sirona, I use my watch and remember the number of seconds.
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

Welcome aboard! Use a stopwatch, remember what shop was to the left and right and read the name badge. Think of someone you might know who ressmbles the staff member and then you won't forget their description.

If you have a phone or dictaphone then use that. It might help you fill in reports in a more concise way, depending which company you are reporting for this may help you get more work. At least until you get better at remembering the key points set out in your job notes. I still do this for jobs I'm not familiar with.

Oh. One more thing. dont eat the yellow snow.
Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk

The shopper instructions say to bet to exhaustion on the roulette tables so you can't win. You have to keep on going until it's all gone.

edit:I would say for the first bet if you put £10 on Black then hopefully win. Then take £10 of that win and put that in your pocket and start again going through the spend allowance and always taking whatever you can that's exceeds the spend allowance and starting again from the beginning until it all runs out.

The shopper instructions are actually ambiguous, the first part tells you that if you win you can keep it (“Any monies won during this assignment can be kept by the researcher”), the second part tells you the client would LIKE you to bet to exhaustion (I bet they would!) I won a good sum the first few spins so bet minimum every other spin until I had spent enough time there. Came out £80 up and never had a query.

Ooooh I do say, sounds very tempting. ESA reports are not that complex to do either. Decisions? Decisions? Can't I just wink/pout at the shaker/roller person thing and they let me win anyway? I'm sure that's what happens in movies. :rotfl::rotfl:

Also, does anyone know roughly how often GR do the posh supermarkets? I've only ever seen one 2 months ago and not seen any since. Confused dot com.

I've also been wondering why you don't use your points. That's a lot of Tesco vouchers too! I'll have them....:rotfl:
