iPhone 4s

I haven't read much other than the OPs ignorant post on the thread.
All I am going to say is history repeats itself. I got an iPhone 4 contract for 2 years knowing that there won't be another release that's visually different until 2012.
Steve Jobs has set out a plan for Apple over the next few years so everything will run smoothly. Depending on how management is then will decide how well the company does. Expect to see a difference in the iPad 3 and the iPhone 5 next year.
Even though I am not planning to get the iPhone 4s, siri looks quite cool and if I had the money I'd pay out and keep the phone on my current contract.0 -
anyone know when iOS5 will be available tomorrow? if i sync my phone when i wake up? or will i need to wait until after i get in from work?0

Usually mid-morning California time, so not until around 6PM UK time.0

Tesco prices for contracts have now been released - still no handset only prices (that I can find anyway!)

I remember my first phone that had internet browsing capabilities (obviously WAP back then) and everyone asking why on earth you'd want to browse the internet on a phone and yet now mobile browsing represents a significant proportion of all UK traffic
The first hands-on reviews are coming out and they seem to be raving about Siri. Has Apple done it again?0 -
I have an iphone 4 and I love it. I don't see the point in iphone4s. it is only marginally better, so i think that if you want a ohone you should get the i phone 4, and get the upgrade when you plug into itunes
However Siri won't work with the iPhone 4. If you want Siri then you have to buy a 4S, which I'm sure is just a ploy by apple to get people to part with their money.
To me Siri is just a gimmick.0 -

To me Siri is genius - for the simple reasons shown in the demo video that was shown at the conference last week. I often drive with the hands free kit plugged in case the wife calls. Now she can text me and i can reply etc while driving! although not just yet as i won't get a 4s, I'm not due an upgrade until next summer. so she'll have to wait for a prompt response0 -

But don't you have to activate Siri by holding down the home button for 2 seconds before you can do that?
And you can you honestly see someone walking down the street on their way to work speaking in to their phone saying "remind me to buy condoms when I leave work"?0 -

i'd just buy condoms through the amazon app...
with the hands free kit i got there is a button on the microphone but of the ear phones that if i hold in brings up the voice control stuff, so i can call without touching the phone (providing it recognises my wifes name as her, and not other people it thinks im trying to contact...) so if driving and wanting to text, i presume i hold the little microphone button and talk...0 -
As for walking down the street talking at your phone, Siri also works if you hold it to your ear as if it was a phone call.0
