Buyer from ireland paid UK postage - not enough.

Do you have to do this even without an international postage rate listed?
(Must check my listings, although it is the first time it has happened to me)
If you sell overseas it really does pay to list your auctions with the correct postage already available. There are only 2 zones for Royal mail (obviously it might well be different if you use couriers) and the postage can be shown in the postage section and that means when a buyer pays the invoice automatically shows the correct postage for their country.
Most of my sales are to non UK bidders, and they BIN or buy my stuff and pay and I never have to do anything.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I got caught on this one recently - now realise that under "buyer's requirements" there is an option to exclude "buyers in countries I do not post to". That seems to be the easiest way to solve it. However, in common with a lot of other settings, I find that I have to redo these setting almost every time I list which is irritating & time consuming....0

There should be no need at all to redo your settings, are you sure you are setting them properly and then saving them?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. #If your buyer has a UK postcode then your buyer lives in the UK.
Why would a buyer from Ireland have a UK postcode?
Thats like saying a buyer from france with a uk postcode, its ok as uk postage rates apply. It would never happen.
Also no such thing as UK mainland rates, Royal Mail charges cover the UK and are all the same. The UK consists of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
They could be in Northern Ireland which is why they would have a UK postcode - You said Ireland you might live in NI and think of the republic of ireland as ireland but people didnt know you lived in northern irelandNeeding to lose weight start date 26 December 2011 current loss 60 pound Down. for me to post a large letter weighing 100g cost 75p in this country to send the same to southern ireland costs 1.50 so quite a differencepaulofessex wrote: »Thats what l was basically asking regarding the postcode. A regular UK postcode from a Ireland based buyer is the indicator that UK mainland postage rates apply.0 -

One part of Ireland IS in the UK so if you state UK only, The part of Ireland that comes under the UK would obviously think this applies to them!A buyer from Ireland has bought one of my items. I have UK only postage listed but she has bought and paid for this item.
I am already posting at a slight loss and the difference to post to her is approx 60p.
Because she has already paid how do I ask her to pay the extra, I.E I cant resent invoice as it doesnt give me the option as she has already paid.
How did she manage to buy it in the first place and should she not have asked how much postage was to send to her?
ThanksNeed to get rid of my Yankee Candle Habit, Not very money saving of me

I don't know why everyone is giving the OP such a hard time. Ireland is the name of the island AND the name of a country - it's pretty obvious which she meant, imo. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0

I don't think we are giving the OP a hard time as it is a confusion that frequently crops up and needed clarifying.I don't know why everyone is giving the OP such a hard time. Ireland is the name of the island AND the name of a country - it's pretty obvious which she meant, imo.0
