Thats what l was basically asking regarding the postcode. Not wishing to teach anyone to suck eggs but some people get confused and alarmed when they have a buyer from Ireland. A regular UK postcode from a Ireland based buyer is the indicator that UK mainland postage rates apply.

If your buyer has a UK postcode then your buyer lives in the UK.

Why would a buyer from Ireland have a UK postcode?

Thats like saying a buyer from france with a uk postcode, its ok as uk postage rates apply. It would never happen.

Also no such thing as UK mainland rates, Royal Mail charges cover the UK and are all the same. The UK consists of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Refund her payment in full through PayPal, then send her an invoice with the correct ROI postage (and a message explaining what you have done).

    Perfect, Thanks.

Wasnt just sure if it was a simple as refunding and re-invoicing.

    Will do that now.

    Thanks so much.

northern ireland is part of the UK, so falls under UK postage.

I never said she lived in Northern Ireland. She lives in Ireland.

You never said the Republic of Ireland, either.

Presumably you must appreciate that many people on the mainland refer to the whole island as Ireland. Many people over here, for example, would say that you live in Ireland.
[Some, you may not be impressed to know, would ask if you lived in Northern or "Southern" Ireland.]

The people responding to you on here didn't know if that's what you meant and so wanted to check.

Normally wouldnt mind if it was my fault but to just buy something when you know the postage option isnt even for where u live isnt fair so I dont see why I should pay the extra.

You should pay because you made the mistake in your listing. If you didn't want to post outside of the UK then you should have excluded the countries you don't post to and also tick the "Exclude bidders from countries I don't post to".

Maybe I should have said Republic of Ireland but TBH I just assumed that it was obv.

ALl sorted now though, have refunded her and sent a new invoice, Thanks for all the help. I never realised now simple it was to send a new invoice. 1000+ feedback and 1st time having to do it. At least I know for the future.

    Thanks all.

Do you have to do this even without an international postage rate listed?

(Must check my listings, although it is the first time it has happened to me)

I live in NI so think I am well aware of the difference in post codes/ countries etc!!!You omitted to mention that to people who were trying to help you

That is why I said she lived in Ireland, as she does!! [COLOR="rgb(153, 50, 204)"][COLOR="rgb(153, 50, 204)"]That can mean both. People are trying to help you, surprising to be snapped back at

I took it down to the PO today with other parcels and it would be +60p to post. Normally wouldnt mind if it was my fault but to just buy something when you know the postage option isnt even for where u live isnt fair so I dont see why I should pay the extra.

No, I believe Hammyman is wrong here. I believe you are allowed to add a reasonable increase for posting abroad.

Yes - the default position if you do not is as you have discovered, that anyone can buy from you (and from memory, I think it shows as "buyer must contact seller for postage price" or something like that, for non-UK buyers).
