As a newbie in here i would like to know more about DTD ie. how do you find the deals for it on here and how it works etc?0
-
DTD = double the difference. If tesco overcharge you its their policy to refund twice the difference. Overcharge is based upon what the itme goes through the till at compared to an advertised price in store/the shelf end label (SEL) or the packaging. Many Tesco CS staff will try and refund you just the difference using arguments like "its not a system overcharge, the cashier keyed it in wrong etc". As for finind them, its simply a case of looking out for the items posted here, finding them in store, paying for them (usually with other shopping) and then complaining to CS.0

One thing I would ask anybody to think about is, if you think it's not in anyway immoral or illegal are you happy to teach your children that this is the way to live your life. Is it then Ok to stage car bumps to get an insurance payout because the insurance companies make big profits and can afford it?
People try s***w you over at every possible opportunity for their gain. Employers do this to millions of people by doing the absolute minimum they can get away with - and paying minimum wage. Kwik Fit will replace your brakes and shock absorbers when you actually need no work doing whatsoever. That energy salesman will tell you their energy is the cheapest to try get you to sign on the dotted line, when it is not. I mean seriously, I could go on forever. If we take your point of view almost everything out there is immoral. It's a dog-eat-dog world out there. Capitalism and greed, it's all bad.
Plus if it was really that bad, Tesco would actually do something about it - or end the policy. I know they specifically employ people to check shelf prices now, if you search the jobs bit of their site.
Perhaps if people were paid wages commensurate with the work they do, instead of the lazy person at the top of the chain in a suit looking pretty sat in a leather recliner giving him/her self bonuses in the millions - people would have no need to try look for that extra bit of money. Keeping people in persistent poverty by giving as little as possible, while taking as much as possible, is what causes people to hunt for DTD. If everyone had the same, people would have no need to look for more than they have.
I've never done the DTD thing myself. But I'd far rather be DTD'ng at Tescos - than working for minimum wage at Kwik Fit and being forced to rip customers off day in, day out, by being told that otherwise my job is on the line. I'd sleep far easier.Wanted a job, now have one. :beer:0 -
This debate will never be concluded as everyone's moral compass points to a different magnetic north. Just leave it alone. You're my badger now Dave.0

and get this thread back on track - which is posting elec bargains, otherwise each time it is bumped by discussion I think something juicy has been spotted but no more drivel.0 -
Keep checking for those bargains. Yesterday my mum picked up this toaster for 1p http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.207-4993.aspx from clearance shelf in Hull. There were Logitech keyboards for £1.25 downstairs. Got a coat for 75p and another for £3 upstairs among the sale clothes - just scan them and you could get lucky. Also while we were there a few 70 quid barbeques went out for £14 so bargains are still dribbling onto the shop floor.0

Well done on your finds! Could you please post a barcode for the toaster?0
